The team must be working away frantically in background as the majority of information available online stresses the importance of IFN B1a, irrespective of delivery method, in Covid19 patients.

I hope this email finds you well.

Back in April 2020 it was announced that the global Solidarity trial would be established where comparing four treatment options against standard of care, to assess their relative effectiveness against COVID-19 - remdesivir; lopinavir/ritonavir; lopinavir/ritonavir with IFN beta-1a; and chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine.

Having seen an announcement over the weekend that from the WHO and reading an article online earlier today that lopinavir/ritonavir had been pulled from the trail, I'm wondering what the status is with IFN beta-1a going forward within the Solidarity Trials as a standalone treatment. It appears that IFN beta-1a is included within several other trials including REMAP-CAP, however im after some clarification on Solidarity Trial.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

I’ve had a response from the second member of the WHO with regards to Solidarity Trial.

Roy - Pardon my ignorance but if the subcutaneous IFB 1a is proven as an effective treatment then could this mean the IV (Farons patented treatment) is then maybe not as critical! Like a comments lower on the board it could take months to manufacture IV treatment.

Coincidence we had a CFO deal before the announcement? Squeaky bum time in the morning? Im expecting a RNS at 7am!
