Ok stupid question time. I know that a div cut is on the cards, but that's for future dividends right? Not the final dividend next month? That's still 10.23c right? Isn't that what Nick Read said in his last update - that he aims to maintain the dividend?
never again will I buy a piece of shit like this. I'll take the hit this time (if it ever bounces back up a bit) and then good riddance to bad rubbish
Nobody knows what will happen in 10 minutes time let alone a month from now, asking questions like that you'll only get back guesses and none will be more valid than your own.
My guess is that this is a good price to buy as I think 131 is the bottom so very limited downside.
My average is currently about 156 so I too am looking to average down.
When I look back at recent price movements, I wish I bought a load at 131 and sold them at 144. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but there are times when I get the timing perfect and I do get the lows and highs and when that happens I pat myself on the back!
Most of the time however, I do OK as far as the buys are concerned but never seem to hold the winners long enough. That is MY fault, no ones elses, not the market, vodafone of Market Makers, just MINE.
I aim to improve, but no one ever times this perfectly and to be honest, you don't need to be perfect, I'm happy to take a slice of the profits and let others take theirs.
This is a highly regulated market, its not a con, and to be honest, even if it was manipulated, what would that actually mean? lower prices? higher spikes? more volatility? Well, as far as I see, that means more opportunities!
The market is not rigged. The shares are not manipulated and market makers are not there to get us. We are always looking to blame others for our mistakes. Quite simply, the market is all about supply, demand and timing. Mistimed entries is the only reason we all lose. IMO.
yahoo.com: FTSE 100-member Vodafone’s share price has slumped 33% in 1 year. This is what I’d do now.
