Estimates of potential return are reliant on production estimates and COS. Production estimates and COS will have a large subjective element and in large companies these would all be subject to peer review.

In UKOG maybe it just needs to be available, have the potential for high initial flow rates to become irresistible (and not the Weald).

Estimated operating margins come before any drilling takes place, because investment isn't undertaken until a company has calculated that the potential return meets its investment criteria.

Any future oil production is therefore expected to be economically robust at current $40/bbl oil prices as front end capital costs per barrel are relatively low and expected operating costs, derived from those at AME's nearby East Sadak field, are forecast to be comparable with UKOG's Horse Hill field operating costs at around $15/bbl. An equivalent production stream in Turkey will therefore pay back far quicker than in the UK.

The Lidsey RNS is an unexpected and very pleasant surprise.

Think a case can be made for a considerably higher share price target than 2p!

Let the partnership find oil and produce it for longer than 6 hours at Basur before worrying about operating margins and payback time.

Agreed, Penguins, "let the partnership find oil and produce it ...", but let the prospective operating margin be a healthy one, too.

think ANGS is in the process of becoming a quality concern, which should lead to a re-rating of its share price.
