RE: The patent page for TYK218 Nov 2020 12:53
Fadec, I think it's important to remember that we aren't only going for tyk2 and the fact is we will never truly understand the reasoning behind Tim and Johns selections and slight variances of the formula for advancement, it also doesn't help that the paper for SDC-1802 in cancers is still not published, this will shine some light here.
I was surprised as you to now discover that T-ALL has its own patent application, but again this may be because of the way T-ALL is a more specific JAK pathway and they know how to target that better, again I don't pretend to be able to figure that out. If you look back at Tim talking about the TYK2 programs you see him specifically mention T-ALL, I remember as he always gets tongue-tied with it. Again I don't think I will ever understand fully the decisions they make and the reasons behind them, only that they have made them and we invest in them.
SDC-1802 on the pipeline has T-ALL as a potential indication so you would assume it is fully patented, but perhaps the SDC-1802 which is fully patented will work here but the individual formula specific for T-ALL will work better.
Assume the years go on and the specific indications go into trials, Tim and John may well slightly tweak the formula depending on the results and go again, with an adapted version of the patent, potentially what they have done with T-ALL.
