I do think you’re right to keep the topic well grounded, although I had understood that CV wasn’t a prerequisite, just a futility test. Although CV would have to follow smartish to meet contact dates.
Yes indeed, and another collaboration too in which Moderna has exercised its option on a first Affirmer target.
This May 2020 directors talk article about collaborations and valuations well worth a re-read:

I think I’m right in saying that LSE only shows this large trade as a sell because it’s closer to the sell prices at close an hour earlier. As far as I’m aware, all we know about this trade is that a buyer and seller were matched outside the stock exchange at 115.71p
“Minister Gado’s nomination is also in response to his efforts in securing FID for the all-important pipeline, and overseeing London-based Savannah energy’s exploration success with five discoveries from five exploration wells drilled.“
Seems to me that SAVE has built a strong foundation and acquired much experience operating in this nation that has been overlooked by global oil and gas players. The company is well placed!
The tender doc says...
This is typically an antibody, but may also be an aptamer, affimer or glycoprotein.
But it might as well have said...
This is typically an antibody, but may also be an aptamer, Affimer from Avacta, or glycoprotein.
sharebuyers comment about Finncap’s broker note TP...
“Mention of a ‘cash machine’, a ‘re-rate’, ‘ignored by the market’ and a 483% upside made us think that finnCap think there is something pretty special about Savannah Energy. Else they’d look rather foolish!”
I completely agree and I have read much reasoned discussion on this board pointing to the raft of revenue generating projects, new customers, Niger et al in the pipeline. It is fairly easy to understand how Finncap’s TP of 49p might purposely be on the conservative side. I’m not banking on it, but it would not surprise me to see a SP of £1+ in the future... the current price is nonsense of course, although with AK’s talk of divi @ about a penny per share, 10p is a great opportunity to establish a very generous yield on your pot forevermore.
The bold action by Standard Life to endorse SAVE will play an important part in providing credible publicity and confidence in this company. Andrew Knott et board are in the right place at the right time, and they’re doing the right things.
I thought Al said human trial of Affimers would take ages, and thus on back burner for now.
However, according to the Feb 2019 ‘Wake Up Call for the Market’ report below...
quote: “ Moderna, with its platform, is bypassing the DNA transcription process, and the mRNA therapeutic will translate into an Affimer molecule inside the cell.“

They also have a history of kick-backs, false claims and bribery.

It is not known how the Moderna mRNA is protected from degradation. It looks like Moderna is keeping the technology secret.
If MRNA is not protected it quickly breaks down. The Pfizer vaccine is protected by freezing it to -80 Celsius which means it is difficult to transport.
Arbutus Biopharma believes Moderna is using its LNP technology without paying and has sued.
Recently the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board rejected Moderna’s challenge to a patent owned by Arbutus Biopharma ABUS +4% related to the lipid nanoparticle (LNP) technology that is crucial to Moderna’s mRNA medicines.
LNP means small fat particles which surround the individual mRNA molecules. Moderna say they are not breaking the Arbutus patent but presumably declined to explain their secret methodology to the court.
It is probable that Moderna have invented a different LNP formulation. But it is not impossible the mRNA molecules are protected by a specially created affimer designed for this purpose.
I understand that Myles mainly trades shares, but Avacta is perhaps one of just a few companies that he bought to hold for the long term. In fact somewhere in his research on his aimchaos site he explains why he thought Avacta was a X100 bagger..... before COVID was ever invented! :)
If anyone should be panicking about the SP it should be Myles, who is probably sitting on a paper loss of maybe £2m or so compared to last week... but what does he do? he puts on a public display of clear and calm confidence, and goes into the market to buy some more! Nice one Myles! :)
There’s plenty of lively chat on this bb about the existence or not of NDA between Avacta and Gov. What we do know is that Avacta has implied that there is.
Avacta presentation 30June20 mentions detailed confidential discussion with governments, and not just our government either!
Page 29 states...
“Detailed discussions with regulatory authorities, governments and healthcare providers are ongoing but STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL.”
