Both 2 very interesting Simon Peaces. It's the acquisitions but particularly the dispositions experience i found most interesting from the Eden SP.

I've absolutely no idea which SP (if any of those two at all) might be our investor, but the markets today appear to like him.

When making investments in a company share, like everyone, i like to do some research.

This might be as little as a half hour flick around Google stuff some afternoon (if I'm investing a few pounds), right up to tens and tens of hours of research inc reading, reports analysis, discussions with other parties, etc, over the course of a few weeks, months or even longer term prior to making any decisions on more substantial investment sums.

Yes my research and analysis looks at company details, figures, stats, etc, however it tends to focus more on the people leading the charge at a company.

Looking at an in depth level at our board members, we have a couple of big hitters with experience in various areas, some of this experience is in 'sciencey stuff' and some with more outside of lab 'businessy stuff'.

Here's my point (eventually). I've researched our board members thoroughly, very thoroughly !

It's all well and good with the test tubey type stuff (1st in class, best in class , etc), but we need businessmen at the helm too, and not just scientists, to do the negotiation's to get the best deal/s possible.

Do i think we have those businessmen onboard ? Ans - Yep, i do !

Why do i feel that ? Ans - Again, my research of these guys.

Simon Douglas has been around forever and has experience of everything, lol. Adrian is similar and has pharma business and other business experience. One individual that we don't hear from much though is our biggest shareholder on the board, Colin Walsh. He's a non sciencey businessman with a hugely impressive CV to look at, particularly in VC. I feel he could be a strong key to open negotiation doors and also 'close' the deal doors too. Andor and Trafficmaster being 2 companies he was involved in directing to great heights.

To summarize. As well as having the top man of Richard 'Brains' Buick in our camp, we have strong businessmen to negotiate for us too !

After praising them to the hilt, my last question to myself to answer is, do i think we have good communicators (to shareholders) in our camp. Ans - Nah, they suck, lol. I'll forgive them for this when we get the positive news we think we might be so close to now.

I just done a sell order quote (not actioned) for 300,000 shares and I'm being offered a price of 13.222. There are obviously buyers for our shares or the MM's wouldn't be taking this amount in one transaction. (You can't always get a price on 300/400k of shares in this stock).

I'm here for the longer haul though or until we get bought out at a 3 times plus multiple of our current MC (hopefully).

I've just done another wee top up a few mins ago there for 20,001 of shares (Yep, i don't like round numbers, strange one that i am).

I don't think our CEO is foolish enough to leave himself or the company wide open by disclosing info he shouldn't. You're bright enough to know that too.

Now we're all here bright enough to know that the institutional investors don't throw money at random companies just on a hunch. They have access to more info, data and access to companies that Joe Bloggs' like myself (and i suspect yourself too) don't have access to.

Rocka. Re your 10.40 post about the company getting 1.3M from investors and then getting no news as soon as they got the money from them.

Here's an alternative thought. Maybe those 1.3M investors DID get some news PRIOR to investing, and maybe that's WHY they invested.

With Chatgpt and AI so much in discussion and use these days, i find myself asking them some interesting questions, silly questions and questions i don't see there's an answer to. I'm still sitting at the edge of the pool here. I haven't even dipped my toes in yet never mind taken the plunge, but i don't believe i will now.

I'd like to though, but the uncertainty of liquidity of buying and selling still concerns me here. Too little trading and with very low volumes for me.

I'm still watching though for any changes.

I've just done a small top-up (34,510 shares) while these are in the 12's. Strange amount, but that takes me to the half mill mark.

I'm happy with the derampers here who talk this down with enthusiasm. I'm not sure if it makes any difference to investors reading this board (it shouldn't), but if it does , I thank you.

I understand a lot of people find you irritating Rocka, but you're a friend to me. So keep er lit Rocka mucker with your posts that this dog of a share can only go one way, and that's obviously down. I'll be waiting with a few more pennies if you actually do make a difference.

(It should go without saying that i do expect our Fab shares to go north sometime soon).

Primed ? Is anyone else feeling that an RNS could hit us tomorrow morning, Friday morning or Tuesday morning coming ?

I agree that this is appearing cheap at present.

Although I'm still optimistic here, I've reduced my holdings a little here, as with a few sectors falling in recent days there are short term trading opportunities elsewhere for possible gains (and further losses obviously) to be made.

I expect to top up again here soon, the aim though is to come back in with a few extra pennies.

I didn't think a director could trade shares (buy, sell or transfer) during a closed period Ev ? I'm open to be corrected if this isn't correct or there are exceptions to this.

They were gifted to his daughter and that could have been to crystalize a CGT gain or loss in the current tax year. A transfer of ownership is treated exactly the same as a sale by HMRC for tax purposes.

If he believed the shares were going to go back in value he could have just sold them as that would have achieved the exact same monetary figure for a gain or loss for CGT purposes.

I see this therefore as a positive that he has decided to hold the shares with a transfer instead of a sale.

Now. . . .

On a different matter. The fact that a non exec director has traded shares, this suggests that the company is not in a non trading period !

If we're not in a non trading period it would be good to see some other company directors show some confidence in FAB with a few purchases.

Although investors like myself and many of you guys here will do our own research before investing in any share, the comprehensiveness and depth of any research most of us do will obviously never touch that of the big institutions.

Buck eejits like my myself maybe think we do research at times, but the reality is we'll never get access to the info or individuals where 'real' info can be gained to make an informed buy or sell decision on any holding/s.

Companies like Rathbones can do ! Although it's still heads or tails for them whether a share goes up or down going forward, they're making the investment decision knowing more than we PI's will ever know.

This is a BIGGIE with Rathbones buying more ! !

Has anyone any information on how vulnerable Ferrexpo are as a company to suffering a major power outage or disruption with these ever increasing attacks on energy infrastructure. If there's limited energy supply available it's obviously more important that the Ukrainian people get priority on supplies with these extreme weather conditions they're going through at the minute.

I've just done a small top up there now of 29,889 for around 4.6k. I got them at 15.39 and happy at that.

Obviously prices can rise and fall, but i feel there are too many positives going for Fab not to take a chance with a few quid more.

We could see this move up very very soon.
