Sorry if this has been asked- I have friend who hasnt taken up offer but wishes they had. would it be best to buy shares now or after decision or something else

Investing is inevitably to make money. In this case like me I hope many of you are sad that it hasnt proved successful in helping those who have and will suffer with the Diseases we all believe it will help.
I personally don't think it is over. Yes it is very disappointing news on how little effect it has on Covid patients.
It was originally conceived for treating COPD. Here it is still probably quite positive. Many people suffer greatly with this. The results of this trial at least dont show negative aspects. So if it can then work to help COPD patients, it is a positive

My conclusion from this is that vaccines are not the golden bullet . Also there is at least a 50% chance that another variant will emerge that the vaccines are not effective for. IN this case it would spread a long way before a vaccine could be developed that could combat it. In this case SNG would be the sort of treatment that will be needed.

If infected initially with Delta, prob will not be protected from Omicron. Especially if not vaccinated in first place
Will things get better?
Good that there is basal immunity from vaccine & infections
Omicron this winter has been lucky escape as a serious Delta type variant would have been a disaster as would have got through the vaccine

So in future could go either way
If trend is as Omicron with future variants milder then that would signal it will get better
But too early to tell and quite possible a bad variant of concern will emerge
Other possibilities is it going back to animals than back to humans with different virus
Can you have too many Boosters? No evidence
Booster for Omicron? Too late as with most variants
Possibly Multivalent type of vaccine is way forward
As vaccine needs to target what is coming not what has happened

Prognosis on how far the rocket will go? I have seen suggestions of £10, £20. I am very positive about this & the company, but do wonder how realistic this is? Looking at independent online predictions, they are positive, but dont go any further than £5. Some suggesting a number of issues including that the company does not have the cash to expand, and that further share issue could devalue current stock holders stakes. As A NOEXPERTME I wonder what the thoughts are on this?

Great news for the people that go into hospital. I think the most significant comment in the RNS is "Over the past year, based on a growing body of clinical data, we have become even more confident that inhaled interferon beta may have an important role in helping hospitalised patients recover from COVID-19."

Meelie- the origin of this post was a link to article in Sun about results of trial on the drug- here is the link to the actual medical trial- I think it is a similar result to Synairgen's P1 trial. Interesting- I take Pulmicort inhaler for asthma. Before I went on to this I often had bad issues with flu/bronchitis. Since then I have not had those issues. Maybe coincidence, but this research is encouraging for us asthma sufferers, but perhaps less so for synairgen investors?

A further complication may be they cant join the trail if they are taking Dexamethazone or any other drug?

I may have missed it, but have not read how getting the target under way may be a moving target. I assume for the drug to be administered to someone , they first have to have covid, then second have to agree to join the trial which means they may or may not get the drug. So in these circumstances do people sign up before getting Covid, or do the trail organisers just have to target the population that has Covid? If this is the case it demonstrates how much more difficult it is to run a trial here as with a vaccine
