Zak Mir: What makes Hamak different? Is it the management? Is it the strategy? You know, what are we looking at?

Nick Thurlow: I think it’s a little bit of everything. I mean, we’ve got a very experienced team which we will continue to add to shortly on the board and the advisory board. We definitely have a long-term shareholder value view that if we build the right foundation, we will be able to overachieve the market. We’ve all got a lot of experience. I worked for tier one banks before. I’ve worked in asset management, I’ve worked with a family office, now and to go to that larger level of investor, not ignoring the retail investor at all, but to get the sort of bigger numbers that we are hoping to do. You have to have a real foundation of partners that’s are from lawyers, auditors, bankers, you know, regulated partners to be able to go and deal with, you know, the institutional market that we are aiming to service.

The deal will create a dedicated global rare earths company with a $400 million valuation, to be listed on Nasdaq. Unlike traditional miners, Mkango focuses on rare earth recycling.

Importantly, Mkango will retain its AIM listing, while its Malawian and Polish assets will form the core of the new Nasdaq-listed entity. Mkango is expected to hold a substantial majority stake—80%—in the new company prior to any warrant exercises.

the issue of selling shares which have not been officially approved has been a practice on the london aim for a number of years. it is a type of share shorting, with the short being closed when the new shares are officially issued. new world oil, became infamous when the private investors under the banner of ********** [7] voted against the issue of the new shares. this caused one the largest short squeezes in the history of the lse aim index. this was considered a rare situation where the power of the shareholders proved stronger than the new world oil and gas board of directors, nominated adviser (beaumont cornish) and broker (cornhill capital). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/new_world_oil_and_gas
