Still no vaccine and may not be for a long time to come—>
Vaccine will take time and I don’t think markets are not expecting it anytime soon . So it’s a given
Rapid testing wont work as its to expensive—> what’s evidence for this ?
IAG is just over a Rights Issue with and extra 3.5 Billion worth of shares released last week—> wow what a great discovery ! My neighbour’s new born kid also aware of this.
For most holiday markets next year is already wrote off ,
2022 before a recovery—> you are worried about SP holding at 100p and taking ‘year’ long projection to justify your negativity . So people just stay home staring at wall until vaccine comes .
Try to come up with logical arguments. Why you people write same things over and over and Create numerous threads !
It can go down to RI price and further lower ,so what . Overall market mood is negative and so the SP. 25% of total shares owned by Quatiries and other sizeable chunks with big funds . So they don’t trade those shares for beer money like you me . So I am not worried double amount of shares .
I have invested in IAG and obviously I want to go up . But I know it’s risky investment and can go down as much as I want it to go down . Even warren buffet with 75 years of market experience said that he can’t predict market direction in next 10min
So no one knows where it will reach and by when , give it a rest !
@WAM
Why you create so many threads to convey your negative views!
50p price prediction means IAG is only worth around £2bn .. really ? Every sane person realised by now we have to live with virus . Some countries are even experiencing third wave . So what , do you think we all lock ourselves in home forever until everyone get vaccinated?
@whatamess
in Q2 we were under full lockdown and in Q3 IAG operated with limited capacity. I suppose results are or more less inline with Easyjet today. what's your rationale behind expecting a big surprise on 30th oct? Is it cashburn still a major concern
Damn! they lost some bucks while waiting this to hit 50p. where that scientist who predicted 45p opening yesterday!
It might go down again to 89p, we don't know but how some people comeup with crazy explanations like Market cap should adjust heavily because sentiment is -ve is beyond me!
@Ben2020, let's hope that news is true.
i am still learning mechanics of stock price fluctuations. but what's frustating is some people come up with very crazy explanations and try to mislead new guys like me. May be that's what they want , i don't think whoever never hold any position type lengthy rubbish here by wasting their time.
in another way people like me need people like them to dig deeper to validate their fancy theories. please continue guys.
I hold iag shares in both Trading212, Iweb platforms. my experience is that when you are doing 'serious' investment then don't go near platforms like trading212..etc until they sort out all comms with companies. if you are doing it for 'beer money' then it doesn't matter.
example: I hold 1000 shares of IAG in trading212 and another 1000 in Iweb. I never took up rights. Iweb helped to me to sell rights at £0.65p and trading212 never gave me option to sell rights sold them in market for £0.15 (don't blame them because market had worst day when they sold on 21/09/2020) .. that's a huge loss in selling rights as well. I know happy path is exercising rights, but if you consider case of selling then you need to dig deeper to stick to correct platform
@castle2012, nice. i would be more happy if it goes to 50p. I was stuck at very high price and never participated in rights issue (don't want to put more money until it reaches bottom). I will buy more if it really reaches 50p.
dear rick,
please share screenshot from your imaginary world where share price adjusted to 50%.. I am very frustated at people like you taking short positions and write some '**** and bull stories' to enlighten others.
I am a new investor used to worry a lot initially after reading loads of comments from negative people in this IAG thread. later relaised they lack rational logic. stock prices goes up and down and there will be huge gap up/down openings to very important business announcements (example: cineworld). please stop writing rubbish!
@castle2012, when will guys like you stop posting illogical arguments in these forums. You can write whatever you want but think if it makes any sense before pitching an argument .
NEX and all other transportation stocks are in down trend from long time. I don't think rights issue is major factor in dragging share price down. I am a long term investor in IAG and watching this closely from last few months. Once bullish trend starts, shorters like you will burn their hands, until then enjoy the shorting money.
Even if it goes to 50p,30p..etc then i am sure some institutional value buying kicks in. good luck to you and your bear friends with your short position
Also check London stock exchange site , market cap is 4bn
https://www.londonstockexchange.com/stock/IAG/international-consolidated-airlines-group-s-a/our-story?lang=en
Whatever your intention and rationale behind stock price adjusting tomorrow to 2bn , good Luck.
Rick ,
Hope you are wrong . Anyway good luck to you !
See Bloomberg info for IAG . It’s saying market cap is 4bn , does that mean these new rights have been included ? (1.8 bn as of this week plus money raised in rights )
https://www.bloomberg.com/quote/IAG:LN
@rickengland about your 45p prediction . Please see below example from an article . Why people like you write the crap like 45 p prediction because it’s not moderated or not understanding fundamentals of how rights issue work
———>
Understanding Capital Value
From a capital or market value point of view, selling shares should not significantly change the per share value. Shares going out from the new issue result in cash equal to the value of those shares coming into the company. Consider a hypothetical company with a $100,000 market value and 1,000 shares. Each share is worth $100. If the company sells 100 more shares, it will bring in $10,000. The value of the company should increase by the $10,000 to $110,000 and the number of shares outstanding increase to 1,100, maintaining the $100 per share value
I still can't figure out when someone says there will be a huge drop or small dip tomorrow. 100% rights have been subscribed and paid for. Also no one will get shares at RI price (£0.88) as this price is only allotment price to existing share holders to exercise rights.
I don't understand where the argument of buying at 88p and selling for immediate profit (unless bankers who is overseeing this get paid in unused rights which is not the case).
Am i missing something?
@whatamess,
I wanted to average IAG now but looking at share price it doesn't look like it will hold 100 . In your opinion how likely this will touch RI price (not far off) and deep bottom of 50p.
While we leave the argument if averaging is good or bad, just wondering if I better wait to average this!
