RE: Developments in Ecuador6 Oct 2025 07:55
In case people are unaware
The ecuador government have revoked the mining licence of a fairly major mining concession.
A concession that has spent many years and many millions of dollars.
I believe,
This will embolden the anti mining lobby, and indigenous population, into thinking, protest long enough and loud enough, threaten legal action, and the government will cave in.
As was the case here.
I believe, added to the proposed punative tax rules.
This shows a bad light on the government's claim to be pro mining.
Coupled with the fact Nobby promised to lift the mining cadre by years end, which is now looking unlikely.
I believe it will make investment in ecuador much harder to access, as I'm sure they're will be some nervousness about what's next.
I also believe this shows, we still have many hurdles to jump, before the sp recovers to anywhere near where we would like it.
Others on here choose to pretent, everything is roses.
Or attempt to stiffle discussion.
Time will tell who's right
