Just to pick up on your point regarding the support of the local community.

I think you will find that's hit rock bottom,the lay off's have affected many local families, and in a country like ecuador, if you were lucky enough to have a job. It's a bitter pill, if you were lured by solg to give up your employment, to then be laid off, with very little prospect of finding another source of income.

I'm afraid you've fell into the affrim/adikt narrative of only seeing what you want to see, but ignoring the reality
