I guess if companies hold large amounts of share they wont wanna SELL it all at once and reduce the value.. They offset in chunks over a day or 3 to keep the selling price up

Watford Council have approx 7-9% stake in it, but more importantly they are the landlord to INTU - they own the land and the Freehold.
So they can get a new Tenant for that shopping centre if needed and say goodbye to INTU.

I guess depends on different factors, how much they can charge the tenants without the tenants seeing it as too expensive to pitch in that shopping centre, how good a deal they have on loans - high interest is a killer! And also spending Figures like £180M on updating Watford etc is a huge expense.. guess its a toss up between making the shopping centres attractive and not spending too much cash....
Either way, not a great company long term - short term bet to make a few quid was possible, is it still possible is the question?

But cant see the shopping centres closing, will just stay open under a new landlord (Bond Holders / Administrators) until a buyer is found.
Like debenhams , went into Admin, shares are worthless and no longer trade - yet stores are open and trading!!
This is the risk on INTU, come COP Friday shares are worthless, yet Saturday you can go into their shopping centres and buy from shops!

Not like any pubs or restaurants open :)
Although INTU need to follow Westfields method - More leisure less shops!
Like Westfield in Stratford, Cinema's, Bowling, Casino, Food, Pubs, etc.
Online shopping is the future, bricks and mortar will slowly reduce, big brands will have a handful of flagship stores that customers can visit to view their ranges, try a few on to understand sizes, touch and feel etc, then go home and order it all..

I said this weeks ago, once the lockdown was removed, they should have refused to open the shopping centres until all tenants had paid their rent, if the shopping centre isnt open then the shops cannot open! Or at least make it difficult for non paying tenants to open their store - a sneaky "sorry there is a leak outside your store" or something! Gotta play hardball with some of these tenants.

Will carry on dropping today / tomorrow and then will see come Friday, if they get saved then a great bargain price can be achieved on the shares today or tomorrow - today's low was 4.24, seeing as i sold at 6.16 on Thurs - that is already a 50% discount! tempted to buy back in <3.5/4p..

This is still so volatile, Could rocket 20% today or could go like Friday and drop 18% in a heartbeat..

Seems the market is not sure which way this will go, went from 12% up to 15% down to back up 8%... lots of buying and selling going on.. Speculation all over the place!

If you wanna get in for the gamble, today would give you a decent price, currently at 4.22 - 15% down.

I sold out last week so currently have no position in this, however I feel many are thinking with their heart and not necessarily with logic.
This was always a punt share for me, I was over 130% up at one stage and thought the good news was coming so held longer, it kept going lower and lower as the 26th got closer! I cashed out on Thursday with a 25% profit! Not fantastic, but not awful for a share of invested in for a short time and as a punt only.

The reason I sold was no good news was apparent, sure it's still a gamble and it may pay off, the issues are this, INTU were in big trouble prior to covid, they are now in a worse position then before. Retail in the high street is a dying game, this is shown with more online sales than ever being taken and the big brands reducing on the high street such as Debenhams etc. Debenhams were always a staple of the high street, and they have decided not to reopen their Watford branch which is the flagship of the shopping centre - they were in there for less than 2 years!

Also I read a comment that if INTU are not saved then this will effect the high street as all these stores will have to close and jobs loss etc?! No the shopping centres will remain open but he owned by the bond holder's and debtors, the shops will carry on regardless but have a new landlord to pay their rent too.

It's more likely long-term that these shopping centres will get pulled down and turned into real estate for properties etc, if no money can be made from physical stores and many Tennant's moving to an online platform, why have such large centres?

Anyway only my opinion, I would say no point putting down anyone that has constructive views from both sides, as to be fair, no one on here knows for sure what news will be out tomorrow, and not everyone that has an opinion is a shorter! Seriously, someone who is short on a share wouldn't bother to try and persuade no professional investors on a board to sell, it's really not gonna make a huge difference :)

Got out yesterday @ 6.16. Shame really as wanted to be in this should it rise up on good news.
Took a 25% Profit, was 130% up at one stage!, but a profit is still a Win in my eyes.

You would expect a strong finish for this today, pretty much all US stock us up 2-4% Pre market, so would like to hope the US will come out fighting strong which should enforce the rise in the UK for the last couple of hours of a crap week - hopefully a base to build for next week, especially with lock down measures being reduced.

I am hoping this is all just market related, although seems crazy the huge drop we've seen on CINE today, hopefully just shorters and this will resolve when they release their position, doesn't seem to be any additional news to warrant the large fall.
The RNS was positive, seems Norges Bank want a decent position in this stock as well.

I'm still showing a profit on this - got in at 54, but my portfolio has been crushed like many I guess this week - was up 17% last week after being 40% down at the start of this pandemic. Literally i am up 0.5% across all stocks! Ouch!

Really hope we have a Blue day tomorrow, but i'm anxious this drop in the market may continue for a few more days unless some great news comes out! Need Trump to Tweet something beneficial :)
