Personally I agree to a certain extent the way we shop ie find a parking space , walking down the high street etc etc is a thing of the past with the exception of Oxford Street etc .. however, we will always want to visit stores to make certain purchases.. it a an “experience” that you obviously can’t get online .. the issues as I see it are we are stuck in the same on mentality of 9 til 5 etc. we can learn a lot from our friends in the USA .. ie open at 10am close at 9/10pm and sometimes during the year close a lot later. There are shopping Malls everywhere in the U S with more than adequate FREE parking, the vast majority are PACKED on an evening and over a weekend . I’m not suggesting the UK creates thousands of shopping Malls but what we do need is to develop more easy access shopping centers , with opening hours to reflect the working population.. just my thoughts and observations having lived in the US for the past 4 years.
