Amentum UK and International is proud to be selected as the program delivery partner for deployment of the Rolls-Royce SMR small modular reactor.

Amentum will immediately work on ensuring successful delivery of the first Rolls-Royce SMRs in the UK and Czech Republic, deploying its full nuclear life cycle experience to oversee multi-functional program execution and integrated planning to support the on-time and on-budget delivery of SMR-generated power.

Rolls-Royce SMR has partnered with Skanska UK to develop its aseismic technology.

A contract has been agreed with Skanska to deliver a demonstrator for the aseismic bearing pedestal – a key innovation that isolates the SMR structures from seismic ground motion.

 

The prototype will be developed at Skanska’s Bentley Works facility in #Doncaster, supporting standardisation of our modular design across diverse geotechnical conditions.

 

Ruth Todd CBE, Rolls-Royce SMR Operations and Supply Chain Director, said: "Working with Skanska is a significant step forward in proving the capability of our aseismic bearing technology and demonstrating our modular approach to construction.
