I am classed as needed being hgv mechanic so I'm having to carry on as normal as possible at the moment .everywhere i go things seem to be just carrying on as usual apart from the odd sign and hand wipes, i suppose this may change in the coming weeks

Also to add to that it was very upsetting to see my dad waste away as he could no longer swallow and looking back it would have probably been in maybe in a selfish way that he had passed away from pneumonia rarther than prolonging his life with no quality

I'm certainly not saying that, i know first hand how these things affect people my dad died last year at the age of 67 from Parkinson's after having had it for 20 years and we had to be very careful of him catching anything, because several times he had to go hospital with pneumonia chest infections etc in the last few years .I started this thread asking how the lock down and isolation.loat of jobs stress etc Could have a knock on affect to a number off people who would ordinarily not have had issues

What is really getting me mad is the media they are over exposing stoking it up showing to us the grim things like showing us people on there death beds in italy and as domino points out they are elderly and have undelying health conditions. They could also be doing more articles on people who have had it and made a good recovery. They should be publishing good news stories more, like how communities are coming together in times of need and i think the way they are reporting causes more stress and upset ,which will lead to more people getting ill

Probably not but it was just a thought ,for instance in relation to stress The American Medical Association has noted that stress is the basic cause of more than 60 percent of all human illness and disease.So if you look at them statistics .With all the things that happening at the moment i would imagine this wil have knock on affect .

In no way am i making light of the situation and it's seriousness and the amount of people who may die from coronavirus But what i have been thinking is how many others may die due to lockdowns and loss of jobs
1 how many old people may now die from loneliness
2 how many people may now attempt or kill themselves as mental health is going to be seriously affected at these times and is already at record highs .
3 how many people will die off stress one of the biggest killers
4 the wider affect on health in stressful times i would imagine people will turn to drink, smoking eating unhealthy .Which will have knock on affects to the nhs .
5 how many people who have homecare because of there illness will need to be admitted
6 due to the mass amount of money being pumped in at the moment which for years to come it will somehow need to be repaid back which will probably have to be a lot of cut backs in social care etc again .

What i would like to say to counter all the negativity. Is a lot of communities are coming together to help each other through this crisis.which can only be a good thing

Short selling should be banned why the hell should they be allowed to borrow the shares. They should have to buy and sell

Oggs i have already stated that i will not investe anymore of my hard earned money on shares,it's more screwed towards the mm and as i call them the london boys then black jack is to the casinos

As far as I'm aware afc cannot be shorted possible that they may be some sort of spread betting. Couldn't find afc on any of the lists of shorted shares .Did see some companies shorting .One was shorting 29 different shares to the value of 900 million
