Ahram Online contacted Lord Nabil El Nagy, the owner of Veritas Mining Limited, who asserted that he had refused to receive a refund of the sum he had paid in 2017, which was estimated at $320,000 plus $50,000 as primary insurance.

He added that the EMRA had asked the winning companies to pay such sums within 15 days of announcing the winners, or the companies would be crossed off.

“We fulfilled our commitments, and the government should hand the concessions to the winning companies, as there are no legal causes to prevent that, and we already signed reports on receiving our concessions,” El Nagy added.

A couple of years ago my dividend payments were late , so I put in an official complaint to first Direct (HSBC do their trading, Darren Lemasurier Centamin company secretary was most supportive to me in the complain procedure.
Anyway I received a letter of apology from HSBC and £200 compensation, since then the payments have speeded up somewhat, although with staff working at home during the pandemic the last dividend payment took a little longer, be interesting to see what happens this time, the pandemic is a great get out of jail card for big organisations although it usually seems to work in their favour!

You have to realise that the 3km is a complete red herring. The proof of license submitted by CEY at the end of last year is for the whole 160km. This has been acknowledged by the admin court and all of the judges in the supreme court - if this was not so Cey would not have been able to have continued mining, which does as we speak. There is a lot of noise around what the arguments are about, almost all of them wildly inaccurate, this being probably the most farcical of them all.

Cey has and continues to adhere to all of the conditions set in the original rule of law when they were granted the license. If they have transgressed this they would have been shut down a long time ago, let alone having spent close to $1bn on building Sukari.
