Yeah the finances crossed my mind. And that’s why I believe we may get a license deal with Takeda sooner rather than later, if they have an eye on the results or as you say that we may not escalate again. Also; and this may be a stupid question, but once it’s actually in use (sorry if) would it be likely, if MTD isn’t found in these trials, that higher doses could be trialed if there’s potential for improving patients outcomes beyond what is potentially found at the current dose levels? Surely knowing it’s safe and effective with low to zero DLTs would leave an open door for higher doses down the line?

Agree with the lot there BITL. No/Minimal DLTs and not looking likely to hit MTD….. but….. you’ve hit a nail I think you may not have intended to there and it’s in AS’ tendency for perfection. Which in this instance isn’t a bad thing, but it would create a delay; does he want to go further with DE4 for biopsy data? Being he seems to never be one for saying “right, that’s great, let’s move forward” but rather “that’s great, but can it be better?” I think this time, based on the previously higher than planned DE at 160 that he won’t take it further. Also biopsy data isn’t entirely necessary, as has been discussed here, at this phase so again, I can’t see it. I think we’ll get data within the next 4-6 weeks. It would be incredible if we get biopsy data, even if it’s just a remark on how it’s looking to date in our next AVA RNS. But I do believe Takeda have an insight into the trial (the old NDA) and I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a deal between us and them but with conditions based on ongoing data. I’d be surprised if they let it go all the way through each phase til data is so strong they have greater comp for a licence agreement. Again all IMO and of course it could still have terrible/unremarkable efficacy to the point it’s no better than standard Dox and we’re sat on an house of cards. But I personally can’t see it as the trial with DE continues.

The reason I don’t think we’ll have a 4th cohort and further DE is the increase to 160 rather than 150 on the most recent DE. Why not just stick to the protocol at 150 if there was a further escalation to come? Meaning what’s the be gained from the slight increase in dose away from what they planned if it was going up further again? To me it felt like a slight push on from what they already have for a final DE and that’ll mark the end of the DE phase. All IMO.

I’ve got late Q3 early Q4 in my head. So any time from Tuesday til Halloween. One thing for certain, 7am has become boring of late.

Yes as each day the trial continues, the hope grows stronger, BUT it does have to actually work. It has to improve side effects and it has to effectively treat cancer at a rate better than standard Dox. These are simply facts. I firmly believe you’ll get your big pay day Hurst Bot.
