Not everybody has funds to make even those fees justified. I've been in 3 years or so and a lot of my buys have been putting in money that would have been blown on smokes or pints. Weekly top ups, not worrying about the price as I'm in for the long haul.
A lot of you probably buy my holding in a single trade, but with a little/lot more patience it should make my life a bit more comfortable.
Got a lucky sell way above my limit on the GDXJ buy that one December, reinvested the excess and put it in the ISA (T212).
Find him on twitter, he's pretty active. Don't get me wrong he knows his stuff, But too many people look to him to justify their investment. You and your research are responsible for your money, not some stranger on the internet.
I find it only goes through on auction times, but yeah that works. Just have to set your limit just before as they won't let you put it more than about 3p above current price stupidly. Usually get it at slightly better price though in my experience.
I've no authority on this board as a long time lurker with no useful knowledge, but I see a lot of people expecting answers from Paddygall. Leave him alone he's given you enough invaluable knowledge already, he's not your personal mystic Meg.
Thelearner, I sold one of my under performing shares at a heavy loss and bought more, but more than made that loss back. I may just sell all others and go 100% in GGP, I'm young enough and can afford the unlikely risk. Just wish I had done it all earlier, hindsight and all that.
