Wow - it’s crazy how many doomsayers are out this morning. I imagine being Marshall Wace is tough right now? Do you keep increasing your short to try and stop any optimism … and when do you throw the towel in?
I don’t really feel sorry for them though
The Betaville report which sparked the rise and takeover talk is now showing on the front page of their website.
errr... what?
There's an after hours trade of 2 million - and it is unknown whether it is a buy or a sell. The UT is 3 million.
Peoplepower1 take a breath. You don't need to post every few seconds.
For me, BooHoo's share price is relatively steady only because people aren't yet pricing in a supply chain recovery
lol - your feelings… hah hah - is that how you make your investment decisions?!
just a sector thing - Boo and Asos both enjoyed nice rises over the past two days, and both fell 5% today. Joules did too - 15%!
Some chunky trades reported after hours.
3m at 104
2m at 106
They reduced again yesterday. - now at 2.59%
Getting out at these low levels without shifting the price much - they have done very well!
Generally the share price has risen - unless Wace have borrowed and sold more shares in order to drive the price down
Shorts have to buy back 51.8m shares now.
Wace have to buy back 32.7m
Yet another £2m trade reported after hours - recently that’s married up with Wace increasing their short to keep a lid on share price increases. I suppose we’ll find out soon enough via shorttracker if they did it again…. I hope it’s them reducing but I suspect another increase (it was at 121p)
Solid Asos results and they flag that the supply chain headwinds are short term which is positive and small price increases are mitigating the inflationary pressure.
Yet ANOTHER late reported £2m trade today... is it someone closing, loading up, or holding the price down? Who knows but there's been so many since Xmas week.
Ignore my last post - brain freeze. Both £2m !
The UT isn’t £2m - it’s 2 million shares
Yes I have. This isn’t it:
Yet another £2m trade being reported after hours
Marshall Wace increased its short position again on the 30th Dec - when it broke through 1.24. I think that every time is rises above 1.24, they have been driving it back down.
Current state of play:
Their short is 2.11% = 26,754,800 shares to buy back
Total disclosed shorts 3.61% = 45,774,800 shares
£2m late reported trade today
