The XOrb technology is used in addition to existing detergent.
The benefits are costs savings (reduction in water, electricity and detergent use) and better laundry care (improved washing performance, extended garment life and reduction in garment colour fade, shrinkage and damage).
The ultimate validation is that customers are using the technology in commercial machines and expanding its use after seeing good results and cost savings.

The study, conducted using two commercial-sized, 600-litre washing machines: one of which was fitted with our Commercial Laundry Care System technology, was commissioned by our commercial partner in India, IFB Industries.
The tests were designed to mirror laundry cycles run by the five-star Taj West End hotel in Bangalore. Using a combination of samples (including bath towels and sheets) BTRA completed over 250 wash cycles – with testing performed after every 25 cycles.
The tests by BTRA show that washing machines equipped with our Commercial Laundry Care System technology wash better by producing whiter whites and removing stains like blood, oils and makeup. Another benefit shows our Commercial Laundry Care System technology reduces both physical and chemical damage caused to fabrics during washing, resulting in less shrinkage and stronger textiles. As well as prolonging the life of clothes, our Commercial Laundry Care System used 41% less water, 36% less energy and 21% less detergent than the comparison machine which already has good green credentials.
