tuggy, long story short...
my father in law used to work for the post office and some years ago they gave shares to employees. that was his introduction to the market so to speak. he made nothing on those shares. the idea of making money on the stock market appealed to him greatly. he thought he would make a great trader, he bought and sold for a good few years and made nothing - i suspect he lost a lot. every family gathering his chat was about his latest find. greatland was his "stick with this one" i'm going back a few years, but i do recall him always saying - this is the jack and the beanstalk. i do know that he bought in at 7p, it rose to 35p or more and then dropped rapidly, he held faith and refused to sell. he bought shares for our daughter, his first and only grandchild. sadly he died a few months ago and didn't get to witness what he predicted. i have no experience in this sort of thing but together with my wife we decided to take up the torch. we bought shares at 7p - during the clearance of his house we came across an awful lot of notes in relation to greatland and somewhere amongst it all he had a "file" on contributors on london south east.
there are only a small number who post these days.
i have spent the last few months going through every bit of info i can.
i feel very comfortable with our investment, i am well known for being a tight ****!
i'm not talking big money, whatever that is, but i am prepared to ride this out for at least 5 years - possibly more - i shall learn as i go.
greatland, for me, is an incredible story. incredible!
there may be some who would like to jump on my next comment, but it really is the only mild concern i have.
we have never had a definitive or conclusive response from greatland to the lower aquifer issue at havieron.
