Chris Heminway, Exec-Chair at Time To ACT, explains why now is the right time for the Group to IPO. Watch the video here.
Hi Dumbly, it seems there is always a reason to slap down energy stocks. When oil goes down a bit, when the S&P goes down a bit...US and Canadian E & P's down 2-3% today, Apache (APA) buys Callon (CPE) and is down 7%....When you use the traditional valuation criteria (P/E, EV/Ebitda, Price/Cashflow, EV/Revenue, FCF-yield/EV etc.) not a single sector comes close to the energy sector in the US stock markets. But none of the US or Canadian oil stocks come close to the ridiculous valuation of ENQ.
To be honest : i feel mugged. Rarely have i seen that a downgraded target price (let alone of a profitable company that was already supercheap) is fulfilled the very same day of the announcement. I understand AB is in it for the long term, but looking at the quantity of shares he has bought at so much higher prices, i cannot imagine he feels like a happy camper.
"Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt in November announced that incentives designed to unlock investment after years of lackluster results will become permanent. "

By keeping on investing in shares such as UKOG and COPL? Doesn't the 5 or 10-year-return, the serial and gigantesque dilution explain enough? What do you need more to see the light?
I am not invested here, my eye simply got caught by the constant posting....You can keep throwing good money after the bad as long as you wish. I would rather learn from this lesson. And invest in a serious company where the CEO puts his money where his mouth is.

DrDunc, i think it is just a question of sentiment. Sentiment can turn. Petrobras has been in the doldrums for years. Is now making new year highs, but situation has looked very dire there too. Canadian E&P's like Yangarra, Vermilion, Crescent Point, even several US E&P's like Vital Energy, they have not been flying neither in the last couple of months....Sometimes you would think that the only way to make money in energy is by going short on E&P's. I don't buy it we will be in the doldrums ad aeternam. When sentiment turns we will fly. Until then we are learning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5BJXwNeKsQ
The effective date of the transaction is the 30th of June 2023, so all cash generated between that date and the moment the deal is closed will correspond to HBR. Considering a conservative netback of $20/boe, the assets can accumulate more than $2.7bn in cash until the end of Q3 2024, which will be more than enough to pay the cash consideration to BASF and LetterOne without using the bridge facility that HBR has included in the deal as a precaution.
You only have to look at past end of year- share price predictions we 've made before to see we all thought that 32 p was too low. :-)
EPL threw a spanner in the engine, but most of us still believe we will go higher.
@Dumbly : What an eloquence by Mr. Mazzagatti (ammazzare in italian means "to kill", gatti means "cats", so catkiller :-)) indeed! Great interview. I would feel more frustrated than him by the shameless actions of the British Government.

In case anyone would wonder how ATH's stratospheric share price development has taken place : RBC Capital upgraded the stock to Outperform from Sector Perform with a C$5 price target, as the Canadian company plans to allocate 100% of free cash flow to shareholders through its stock buyback program.

Just to show what a small E&P's share price is able of when the heard plays along : have a look at the development of Athabascas Oil 's (ATH) share price development over the last five years. From 0,13 CAD up to 4,05 CAD. Share price near multiyear high. We don't have the same growth potential i guess, but we do produce more and our market cap is so much smaller.
