It's a shame as this company has good intentions, but as you say it's currently effectively worthless. I might take a look just for a punt below £1m m/c, but we're still x4 higher than I'd consider even for a risky trade. That's unless they manage to raise, of course.

Over many recent trading days I've seen large sells, of typically £1M or more, registering after-hours. These are clearly institutional sells.

In the meantime we have board members selling, and the share price is trying and failing (again) to get through to £8. It is also clear that retail continues to buy, although in insufficient volumes to offset the institutional selling.

Am I the only LTH concerned by this?

The company is raking in cash at an astonishing rate and I would perhaps have expected some of this to be put towards a buy-back scheme.

Does the company lack sufficient faith in its future so as to initiate such a scheme?

I think it's a bit too easy to get lost in the fundamentals and the probable future of this company when the technicals are cooling off and selling pressure prevents us from going higher.

And this, Ian, is why being a permabull is not clever.

Unfortunately, Ian, this reflects the thoughtless "permabull" state of mind that drove people to buy at 40p and proudly proclaim that they had bought at 40p on this chat board. Now they sit on a ~75% or so paper loss.

Directors bought a relative pittance in a placing that a profitable business wouldn't have needed to run.

Directors declining to buy placing shares sends a horrifying message. They had no choice other than to buy.

Your point, whatever it was, is moot.

A small number of us posted on this chat board about a year ago when the SP had fallen away from ~40p that the stock was overvalued and the financials simply didn't support such a steep valuation. SP movements since then indicate the market reflects this opinion. The business is still loss-making and it's unclear to me how or when they'll ever become profitable. Unless and until they can, and do, I can't reinvest. I might take a look at low-single figures, but this is looking more and more like another trashy AIM stock that allows a loss-making company to lean on PIs to keep it afloat.

I haven't seen any talk of Havieron outside of the FS and ~2.5yr to "first gold" for ages.

1.5p was my most recent buy. I hope this has many more legs so I can at least sit on a paper profit for the first time in years.

You can't "have a target and stick to it" if the market moves against you. Anyone can take the decision to reduce their risk and protect whatever gains they have, at any time, and it shouldn't be attracting this sort of response. I sold out at 330p once the technicals started turning against it and buyers appeared to be exhausted. If more people had chosen to do this then each one of those people could now increase their positions by 20% or so by buying back in at this price. Alternatively, they could choose to keep their powder dry. In any case, it is their choice and you should not be scalding them for it.

What's never been clear to me is why a local US oiler wouldn't have taken the opportunity to exploit these wells. I mean if they're good enough for a GB oiler to sling its hook over to the Atlantic, then why hasn't a US driller jumped on the opportunity?

I've always liked this company and have made good money from its stock in the past but it seems totally uninvestable to me at the moment.

A massive catalyst will be required, IMO, to drive up the share price from here. I wouldn't be surprised to see 4--5p share price for at least the next year.

250 seemed like a bottom until today.

There's no reason to think 230 will also be.

It may well bounce slightly from here, especially in light of the two fairly large buys at 3pm today.

Personally I think a revisit of the 200MA is most likely (207p).

I'm not necessarily buying more at this price but this seems the most reasonable type of placing we, as shareholders, could hope for. I wish I'd understood the risk a bit more before buying pre-consolidation, but if the CEO is putting in his own money now then I have reason to hope, at least.

I've always liked this company but it's in the wrong sector at the wrong time.

I last sold out around 18 months ago and haven't seen a clear trade opportunity since.

I think there will need to be a serious uptick in crude price to provide another buy point.

Until then, it'll continue to be rats leaving a sinking ship IMO.

You have to wonder why a US-based co would list in the UK. One possible explanation is that US-listed companies are legally required to act in such a way as to maximise shareholder value. Not so, here. In hindsight this might seem significant.
