Donbass recognition may hold key to Ukraine deadlock, experts tell RT

Russia’s move to recognize the independence of the Donetsk (DPR) and Lugansk (LPR) People’s Republics may spur negotiations that finally bring and end to the Ukrainian crisis, Vitaly Naumkin, president of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, told RT.

“The recognition of the two republics by Russia can, in theory, lead the negotiations [between DPR, LPR and Kiev] out of the deadlock.

Naumkin pointed out that Kiev had missed out on many chances to strike a deal with the breakaway republics in the past, noting that “When they had been told they needed to negotiate with Donetsk and Lugansk, they categorically refused to do so.”

No Of don't think. So. Putin was not bothered in the slightest about sanctions.

He has signed a 30 year gas deal with China.

I think we are worth twice that amount.

Why renationalise? That doesn't make sense in the face of sanctions that target state actors and entities.

Oil, gold, gas and green metals are rising and will continue to rise. These will be the stocks to hold and invest in.

The ironic consequences of this conflict, is that it will usher in the era of green energy and transition away from oil this decade.

BOJO, has put forward a poor set of sanctions. 5 banks and some individuals. Effectively the conflict is over. No further sanctions as long as Putin does not invade Ukraine proper.

The west has conceded Donetsk and Lugansk to Russia.

Now EUA a British company, can sell its assets to a Russian/Japanese consortium.

Yes, would be good to get an update on how many shorts have closed. With an RNS due imminently and sanctions very limited that won't effect EUA, I'd be closing if I were short.
