What is the current status of Mimbula production? Is the mine ramping up and are Trident receiving royalties? When is the date for the elusive for IPO? The Vedanta statement dated 10 December 2020 makes me ask this question. The statement is quite clear that the provisional liquidator cannot deal with the assets to safe guard the interest of KCM pending London hearings and confirming Zambian hearings. The liquidator is also prevented from selling any or part of the KCM portfolio which again limits those operating in the area and I would assume this includes Moxico. Would someone at Trident please clear up the royalty status from Moxico and floatation timings. Don't keep us in the dark since this was your first transaction!
A prominent media publication in Zambia "The Mast" produced an article on September 4th, 2020 quoting the small mines association president Victor Kalesha who was being critical of KCM being preferential to Moxico to the disadvantage of Zambian's small scale miners. He quotes that he is surprised to learn that a big company like Moxico is trying to give the impression that they are a big primary miner when in actual fact they are small dump miner. He says they represent themselves as a big investment company in the country. He claims that the association understands that Moxico is using this operation as a speculation for their stock market benefit and feels that the whole operation is ambiguous "in his words". This leads to the question is Mimbula working or not and is the royalty stream being received from the current operation?? Similarly what about the dispute of Mibula since all the newspaper releases suggest that Vedanta are still in court regarding ownership and trespassing by Moxico? Answers please.
I see that there is a second broker appointed. Good to know if the company intends taking royalties in listed companies or would be listed companies. The royalty has some protection if in a listed company because the transparency of the information. I note that the investment in Moxico Resources would be immediately cash generative from the Mimbula mine. Everything I hear said the Mimbula mine isn't working. Update please. Are Moxico still working those low grades dumps which obviously produce no money create a dust and road hazard in Chingola and make the overall economics of KCM even worse. Can we have the transparency please Adam on Mimbula and prospects for Moxico floatation and royalty contribution? On another note, is the team looking for nickel since it looks to me like a nickel sulphide deposit would be worth its waiting gold if looking for a highly prospective royalty stream?
oh dear, I don't want to get into an argument but step back a little. The Vedanta dispute is about liquidation and the South African arbitration court ruled in Vedanta's favour that the liquidation was premature. In effect Vedanta still owns KCM pending arbitration resolution. The injunction, as I read, was Vedanta asking the courts to prevent any disposal of any asset until the arbitration is resolved. This they won. Looking at the Zambian press, in November and December 2019 you will see quite clearly Moxico asking Vedanta to lodge USD1 million since they had not gotten a presence in the country. I am not sure what happened there but what I do know is until the arbitration regarding the validity of the liquidation is resolved, then the assets should not be disturbed hence to talk about the dispute between KCM and Mimbula is redundant and has no bearing. The assets are frozen because of the dispute between Vedanta and government concerning the liquidation request by ZCCM. All very complex but the situation is very clear. The assets are frozen pending arbitration. The Mimbula open pit is not working as an open pit. Again as I understand it from local friends.
Hello Cacher and Mosquito Squdron, thank you for your comments. I am not trying to be bothersome and I am sure Adam and Co are on the right mission with their royalty streams. That's not what I am questioning. November and December 2019 press is specific about injunctions and counter claims regarding the selling of KCM assets and Mimbula and dumps are part of that debate. My reading tells me that Vedanta won the arbitration in South Africa. My reading tells me that Vedanta lodged a successful injunction against KCM dealing the assets. Simply this means that Mimbula is under dispute and that dispute is not yet dissolved. How can you mine and gain benefit from an asset under dispute? Beats me! Also, reading the announcement KCM has engaged in a long term treatment deal which encumbers future owners since the low grade is probably displacing higher grade material. It is the first time that I have ever seen an administrator entering into long term agreements when the ultimate goal is to find a purchaser for the assets and satisfy the creditors. The Zambian press in November and December addresses most of the issues and should be read.
Mimbula producing?? From where? How can Mimbula start working when there is a dispute with Vedanta? My understanding is that this won't be sorted out until 2021 and everything is on hold until then. The dumps mentioned in the Trident RNS are also part of the same arbitration. Either I don't understand the law, or?????
Hello all, this site suddenly busy again. AGM deferred until 23 June. What is this company? Is it a strategic investor or does it sell zinc treatment equipment? I have looked at the Moxico investment and I have seen lots of reference to litigation and IPO to be held soon. The IPO has been going on for over two years. Why is that? Does anyone know? Looking at the AGM I see a statement from the Chairman that Mimbula is producing mid year and yet there is big litigation with Vedanta. With Moxico being asked not to trespass. Have I got this wrong? Don't know if this impacts other assets in the Chingola region but from what I read in the press there is a bun fight regarding the litigation. I guess my question is when are Moxico floating and are they actually in production? Seems to me a good trade investment if the underlying facts allow production to take place. Big pre IPO value (USD30 million) so we can expect a big value on listing. Will somebody please put me on the right path of understanding.
