A metric ton is 1000 kg. ... stones, and so an Imperial hundredweight is 8 stone, 8x14=112 pounds; thus an Imperial ton is 112x20= 2240 pounds (1016.047 kg). So, after the UK redefined their ton, a USCS ton became a “short ton”, and the Imperial ton became a “long ton”.

Does it matter , metric and imperial are nearly the same
