2000 ....blimey.....they were usually 500 and 1000 pound bombs.
That's probably why it was exploded on site. Normally they are taken away and exploded in a safer
place. I didn't even know the Germans had bombed Exeter city......its a long way for a bomber in those piston engine days.
Germany didn't have a heavy bomber. They reckon it was a strategic mistake......one of many with mad man Hitler in charge.

Not sure if you’ve been following this story but here’s a video showing the bomb detonation that happened on Will’s Uni Campus yesterday. He wasn’t in any of the buildings that had to evacuate but some of his friends were. He accommodated several of these ‘refugees’ in his flat for the day. Apparently the noise was deafening and the windows rattled when it went off.

I think that’s probably the most action he’s seen at Uni all year given lockdown!
