Both Michel Barnier and Nigel Farage mock former PM
Nigel Farage told ITV viewers that dealing with all the “snakes” at Westminster has helped him face real-life reptiles in the jungle. The ex-Brexit Party leader has faced a fair amount of political venom from fellow I’m a Celebrity contestants. First Dates host Fred Sirieix demanded that he explain his “shameful” Leave campaign – only for Farage to defend Brexit and insist it means we “stand on our own two feet in the world!” Farage was scathing about fellow Brexit comrade Boris Johnson – calling him “one of the most disorganised human beings that ever lived”. Michel Barnier appears to agree. The former EU negotiator said his Brussels team simply did not believe Johnson’s bluff that he was prepared to trigger a no-deal Brexit. The French politician said he knew the “madman strategy” taught at British universities, and was not impressed. Barnier said those behind Brexit did not understand its “consequences”. If Farage is anything to go by, they still don’t.
