Hi Wonga,
I like to swear, but I like Benjamin Franklin more.
I 'm aware of the Maersk history but their annual bunker fuel tonnage cannot be ignored.
Re JM's comment about lignin. Maersk were looking to trial lignin as a biofuel so may be Maersk have been in touch. I know how some of you feel about Maersk but just having MSC and Maersk combined would be more than 10% of annual global marine consumption. I think I could put my differences aside for Maersks annual consumption.
Apologies that should have read 2000hr.
Indigo I don't suspect a 200hr LONO on 2 vessels would be accepeted but as Jack123 has said that after 2000hrs the engine manufacturer may say that they are satisfied that the fuel woorks. I am fairly certain of reading that around 2017/18.
Also my thoughts on multiple vessels is that they may want to test the fuel under different climate conditions to establish how MSAR performs/reacts and possibly run 1 vessel on MSAR with a scrubber and another possibly on bioMSAR and also as Rewhbe advises on a Warsilla and MAN engine in order to get LONO's on both and then hopefully we can all watch our
metaphorical ships coming in.
Dustofnations you are corrects in STS (ship to ship) operations. Performing the bunker operation at anchor is cheaper as the vessel will not incur any port charges, ie cost of using a port pilot, tug costs, port dues, berth dues, boatmen/linesmen charges etc, but the sea conditions need to be such that it is safe to perform the bunker operation, fuel transfer from bunker barge to vessel. If the ship is calling into port to conduct a load or discharge operation then the bunker operation may be able to be conducted whilst alongside via shore pipeline or the same bunker barge that would have performed the op at anchor would conduct the same op alongside the vessel whilst vessel alongside ithe jetty.
To add Prep can be transported at ambient temperature, full carbon burnout and whn water droplets turn to steam this cleans the engine so less maintenance in the long run.
Well done to all those that made money here today especially as we suffer the hardships of covid. It's also a nice time of year to make some much needed income as can be an expensive month.
Yes Elir, fist I had heard about it, but we must serously be one of the most unluckiest companies n the planet as am sure Jason said the first batch from the tanks was contaminated and te second batch from a different site had nt been sampled tested prior sending. I did send in a question on this making a point that due diligence clearly hadn't been carried out by those that had drawn the samples. Not rocket science to test them prior sending. A school boy error resulting in further delays sadly but not QFI's fault.
Agreed and agreed Foxm.
My guess is that its Fatty Acid Methyl Ester AKA F.A.M.E
Both MK and JM to me have proved that they are very competent at being incompetent and I will continue to refer to them in this manner until they prove me wrong. Please note how many times MK uses the words SUBSTANTIAL and SIGNIFICANT on Friday and pay attention to the umming and ahing JM who is apparently the worlds best in emulsion fuels according to MK. I hope shareholders are ruthless with them on Friday. I remember reading on another forum that it took Elon Musk 10yrs for a private company to send a rocket to the Space Station and 13yrs for vertical take off and landing and here we are 16yrs later. Pull your fingers out boys. I'm tired of your 'skata'
