IPOs are discounted you melon... how else do you tempt new buyers? Otherwise they'd just buy on market. Also it is only the small amount of "new" shares that were sold at a discount. Those Newmont shares sold to new buyers are just a normal trade, the proceeds are not GGPs.

Newmont were issued the shares in December 2024 when GGP purchased Telfer / Havieron.

A simple answer to that. If IPOs lose investors money then investors won’t participate, so future IPOs suffer. To keep the IPO market liquid and buoyant there is an expectation of making money otherwise you’d buy shares on the market instead. A discount is commonplace. If the demand for shares is high then the share price will be fine.

IPOs of this nature will offer new buyers a discount otherwise why buy? They off a small stag profit of 5/10/15% to entice them in. The key for Shaun is allocating shares to new investors that are buy and hold type, like pension funds. Don’t want traders to buy in the IPO as they’ll flip for a quick profit.

The Sunday Roast boys calling for 25p in coming weeks…. I agree we will see 25p at some point in 2025 (old pre-consol) which is exciting. So £5 post consol.
