The good news for Newmont is that the other mines for sale seem to be getting Newmont closer to the magical $2bill that they want to raise. The more they monetise the other sites for the less pressure on Telfer to be sold at the highest value. They may be just happy to walk away at some point.
I personally wouldnât label Telfer a dog. Itâs over 40 years old with awesome infrastructure that in todayâs world is hard to replicate without significant cost and time. It was built before the aboriginals had the land rights they have now as well. Like any 40 year old âkitâ it just needs maintenance. Newmont are the best partner to have for this as they have much deeper pockets than any other gold company. They can afford to put Telfer right and get it ready for sale as a going concern. Clearly over 40 years itâs best days are behind it regarding ore reserves. So we just need to keep it being fed by other sources or ore like Havieron, and perhaps Antipaâs ore as an example. And the massive other sticking point is the remediation liability which will reduce the upfront purchase cost, but has to be costed for. Letâs hope Shaunâs positivity from his interview with Liam is due to working on buying the lot for us, being Telfer + 70% Hav + the other Newmont JVs in the Paterson.
Bertie âHave a look at the costs Golden Cross Resources put on their 3mtpa processing plane for gold and copper ??
Itâs not ÂŁ6m and it was on the back of a wagon .â
You should post a relevant link so we know what to read. Since youâve done the research already sharing would have taken minutes.
If people stop trolling one another it would be easier to read. Who cares what RSI writes. But being nasty to him he gets nasty back and on and on it goes. We still await the BIG NEWS for 2024 of who is buying Telfer + 70% Havieron. The daily swings of the share price will do whatever it does, regardless of drawing charts, etc.
We have all bought into GGP on what we deem the future prospects of the company being a hell of a lot better than today, and with a share price to match. Keep calm and carry on.

The circumstances at Telfer wonât improve any time soon. With the current tails dam issues they have stated that the plant will be offline until at least September, best case scenario.
Having said that, Newmont absolutely has to resolve the tails dam issue whether they sell it, keep it or close it, and surely the uncertainty would contribute to it going for an even more bargain price? Iâd also imagine there would be a sale clause specifying Newmontâs liability for any other tails dam issues for a period of time?

Mr RSI. Tbf nobody really cares much here about the daily swings, the candle patterns etc. If that is your thing, then fair-do's and good for you. Most here are holding their shares waiting for the big news events, the topics of which we discuss weekly. We expect to see the share price many multiples from here, which your daily charts cannot capture.
