The ''stupid old dogs'' was a term used by our recent addition of ' It will be alright on the night '. I meant no disrespect to your good self, unlike the original poster. You have also made me redundant as the ' word of caution ' agent . Your posts are well constructed and guilty of being realistic. Once again Well done. I would take my hat off to you, if I could afford one. Fortunately, RSA is keeping a roof over my head at last, so I can now dispose of my umbrella that has been sheltering me from the emed sh it storm. ATB
Well said... I don't suppose you ever thought you would concur with us ''stupid old dogs'', but even you are suffering battle fatigue these days. Good luck mate, I hope you, along with the ol' contemptibles scramble out of this without too big a loss.
You were probably placed better than my situation with Verizon. I have a very agreeable arrangement with HMRC and did not wish to involve US tax system, or any other tax system for that matter, plus having 50% cut in shares if taking the offer. Also there has been no appreciable rise in Voda sp since selling and I would have only got half the divi , due to only having half the shares . It's fair to say that I could have chosen a better place than RSA and would have been less stressful staying with Voda. If I can break even here I hope to find a better home or put the money in ING for a fab 3% return. Not attractive, but better than a loss. Anyway, it has been nice to have some one else's story and perspective. Thanks for your input... ATB
I have a similar story, I joined after making a profit on Voda, but left them because of the smoke and mirrors offer. Looking for divi return I bought RSA @ £1.21..... 6 weeks later the whole thing crashed and divi was scrapped. Since then I have had to sell 30,000 @ approx. 20p loss per share, ie 6K down. I took up the offer of a sort of buy 1 get one free, so ended up paying 56p for 3,750 shares. I sold 750 at a compound profit of £1 a few months back and sold 3,000 last week at approx. £ 2 profit Therefore I have more or less broken even on the 56p allocation. I now need the offer price to reach £6.05 to break even on the original full price consolidated shares. A lot of waiting and messing about to get back to where I started, with very little in the way of divi's, which was the point of the whole exercise. Bloody waste of time really, but I will be glad just to get out without the crippling loss thus far.
Join the club !!!
Unless a large dump has taken place that has not shown, I cannot see how a £700 sell could have had that effect.
Unless I am mistaken, do not confuse the second paragraph as AB's statement. I believe this has been cleverly melded in to give the wrong impression by a wishful thinker.
They may think the drilling results would not help, if as I suspect, they are underwhelming.
RSA
Thank you for your response, very kind of you. Even when things go well, I could still of done better. I sold 20% of my holding, but sold too soon thereby losing £1000 to what I could of made. However, one should not be avaricious. If the sp continues upward tomorrow I can sell another 20% to reduce the difference
that one of my other shares has risen by 15% today, ie 65p rise. That goes some way to alleviate this dead duck. If this drops below 4p, I may throw some more money at it.
There is also ex divi date in the not too distant future, forecast 13p, not much, but better than nothing.
The Germans could of won the war if they had used your cypher system instead of Enigma.
That's not the half of it. After decimating our holdings by printing billions more shares, thereby diluting our holdings, the next step will be a consolidation, probably between 3 and 5 for 1 with no appreciable rise in sp value. This was always going to be part of phase 2 of my prediction. Needless to say, I did not add to my holdings on the so called ''offer''
As predicted, we have now moved into phase 2. This is looking more and more like Beacon Hill Resources. I only bought those because I lived near Hindhead.
One of the very rare rational and logical posts regarding this debacle. Unfortunately it will be like a voice in the wilderness on this board. Well done anyway.
Thanks mate, my IT skills are non existent, did not know how to get it on this page. I think it's called cut and paste, but I thought it referred to decorating the lounge.
My bestest friend in all de world has sent me the you tube link. Out of Spain, by Smiler. The stupid old dogs will know the characters. Even the new whizz kids should be able to join the dots..
If you are still about, could you refresh the link to Hitler's rant. I have tried to find it, but no luck. I think it would lighten the mood in these dark days. See all the ''stupid old dogs'' Farmer, Getnone etc that have kept this afloat long enough for the new whizz kids to know it all.
Don't worry mate, this only applies to copper producers, so not likely to affect us for a long time. By the way, the sp is doing exactly what I predicted in my last email to you. Phase 1 done, Phase 2 to follow. Do you remember the days of Stockready,,,,Deja Vu 5 years on. We also invested in a company that was 100% Emed, now it's just a sign over the door. If we own 10% after all this I will be amazed.
