Let’s hope so. But a profit warning will plummet this share. There’s been large growth in this company and what follows in this sector is bad debt. They need to up the provisions imo and prepare for the rainy day that always follows. Look at Funding Circle SP - massive growth in a volatile sector that’s swamped with specialist lenders...
Agree. Mr Russell is a major shareholder and has been from day 1. No doubt provided original funding. The rest of the board show be the ones showing confidence and investing
Headroom in facilities is great, but they are effectively loans from banks that need repaying. Its not 1:1 funding, it’ll be 85% at best. Therefore, strong cash flow and minimal bad debt is a must.
Agree. Have watched this stock for some time and have previously stated that the speculation that its undervalued, holds no water. A t/o would be the best option for all shareholders. SP has been previously propped up by good news, if the recent RNS drops the SP by 25%, bad news will plummet it - hence a lottery. Bad debt appears to be reported too low at 1% in this sector. I’ll stick atm and take the yield or a t/o bid..
This is a very good point. With the exit of Mr Nolan, you would have thought that if the remaining board members had confidence in the future SP growth, they would have made a major purchase.
I for one do not believe this SP is under valued. This has been the belief of so many for so long, it starts to wear thin and has no substance..
I said that this would be in the 30’s again and guess what. For some reasons this stock is not a great flavour. Not sure what bad news would do to it ??. Is it non prime lending in a not very secure market, with uncertainty ahead ? I hope that any future bonuses are heavily geared towards an SP recovery..!
I’m intrigued... The current SP standing and performance suggests otherwise. What do you base your foresight on.. Calculated research or optimism?
I agree with you in the main. However, I do need full accounts to do a detailed analysis. The shareholder pack alone can only provide high level observations & I note that not all the businesses have filed their year end statutory accounts 🧐. Also a 1% bad debt in this sector is unheard of - so I question that everything is declared. Maybe a postponed reserve.
There are a lot of comments that this is an undervalued share, based on what exactly ? At some point a consolidation will happen (&/or a market downturn?) At which point the good news will slow. It’s make hay while
sun shines and if you feel brave, then take a punt on the low SP. But beware, I see no confirming evidence that the ex retired director is selling the balance of their shares. So glad I sold a chunk when on a high as not sure when the next one will be 🤔
I can’t do a detailed analysis as I don’t have any inside info. My observations are purely based on the SP’s reaction to good/bad news. Then it’s sustainability. What just doesn’t sit well with me is that a great set of results followed by a positive prediction to buy, has resulted in a 25% drop in value in 2 weeks. I understand that you believe an ex director is selling their remaining holdings (do you know that this is the case?), but if the SP is more reactive to an individuals actions, than the company performance, then is this not a very risky and unpredictable bet ?
My opinion based on extremely good news failing to sustain a strong share price. What else needs to happen!?!?!
The SP price will be at 40p again soon, there is no sustainability in the company. Makes you wonder what the ‘good’ news is actually based on as the market doesn’t agree.
OMG I am glad I sold some of this stock last week on a high, be back in the 40’s again at this rate. Not sure how this SP will ever see a decent return - last weeks results should have rocketed then stabilised the SP. I’m therefore not sure what else will. This not a strong buy in my opinion.
Funding looks solid, good buy, holding on
Hope these bounce back to year high after a steady rise
Had these for a while maybe I’ll hang on to them and wait see what happens
Can’t make my mind up about this one. They were a solid return some time ago, but that seems to be long in the past. Trading news doesn’t seem to make an impact on the SP, which has steadily declined from its once 70p plus. The UK is once again saturated with lenders and I can’t help but think that these small non-prime ones could catch a cold if the market sees a downturn...
I’m sticking with it Bodycote always come good
