there are several parts to a MM desk the MM is purely customer liquidity and his role to buy sell on request they will be especially favourable to thier own broker research clients as they earn commission on the research side.
they may also have a proprietary book where they will take positions for the longer term.
lol tmt not insider just MM they may pre position themselves but with limits holding lage amounts of the stock on the book may cost them in a dip(tree shake)and then if they get taken out lower down hes in a loss situation...
addicknt there are many different ways MM,s will try to fill orders alot of the bigger orders are time delayed and the risk to the MM is not that much.. if the clients are trying to purchase large amounts whats the point in making the MM short of stock for the market to be ramped in his face so there will be a balance and bids above the market seen on the screen will be heard ..hope that makes sense
Morning all Because of the possible entry or non entry today will be a MM delight,,,lots of rapid moves high volume possible so called tree shakes, spikes , bids higher that you can see as Institutions work orders.
lock hands to seats away from the sell button my view....
Not so sure about that sliding scale for stops RA as I said earlier think the Mark at the close was a late trade executed in order of receipt MM,s are not beyond your thoughts I agree but it,s not always black and white...... my view....
The mark at close was probably an electronic print executed in order of receipt to create that mark to market. not an issue think that any decisions on new major order flow will now have have been signed off after last weeks news flow and will be close to being on traders desks for execution so expect a stable price around here for now ....my view...
Thank you Paddy yes I know I am trying in a slow way I know to dumb it down and pick out the X factor on all these numbers as confusion is ripe across all the boards chatting .....very easy to get misled.......solid as ever Paddy.....
good morning lots of discrepancies coming out from different pro sources for instance the Aisc the other noticeable one is the per year oz count 200k 300k 500k but the 15 year number seems standard....15m or even 20m total (PLEASE)
Thanks guys for contributions on this subject and so with UBS i think using 900 and todays release using 800, using the Cadia 400 that would give a few more pennies on the overall share price.....although i,m sure we would like to be able to use the 150 call that was used from a twitter quote......
