I hope you are right. I have been invested for many years and have seen value diminish by 80 + per cent. I have always believed in its potential but obviously the market has not ----- until now. I received a few generous dividends to begin with and then no more and then began the catastrophic and continuous decline. Good luck to all long term holders. Eventually our day will come.
I checked out the dividend when I read "it's a dividend share for me" (Bananaman2) and was very surprised by to note a divi of 12 percent + Is this for real? I have not been following this share for a long time since I got badly burnt many years ago on dilution, thereby losing a lot of money.
BP still far off historic highs. I bought my first shares for £5.61 more than 15 years ago. Still waiting for return to these values. With present energy situation and share buy backs this should not take too long
In the meantime divi payments have compensated for loss of capital value. Good luck to all LTHs.
I must also be one of the one per cent. Here since 2007. Inertia probably explains my position. Regrettably held too long and saw initial profit turn to 99 per cent loss - probably worst ever investment . Cannot understand today's 31 per cent rise on virtually nil trade.
Just what I feared on consolidation. It has happened to me so many times I swear it will never happen again but just can't bring myself to sell. Worst for me was GKP which was up 2400 per cent but I heeded those who said it was worth £8/share and eventually made 90 per cent loss by holding on. It worries me that directors are not buying at these new lows for SAR. I hold in hope.
Reluctantly (as I am heavily invested here for many years) I have to agree with Dubstep that consolidation in AIM shares in my painful experience has resulted literally in decimation of my shares' values especially in the case of small oil exploration companies. Hopefully pharma will be different as I have long had high hopes for SAR.
11.27 per cent rise on nil volume buys/sells. What's going on?
Bid 4.90.offer 5.10
I too have been here for many years experiencing despair after initial elation. Still a few quid under but hoping next week will see me in profit territory.
Yes it is still possible to see 2.50 before Christmas despite this mornings sell off and drop. I think Frisby may be right about an enhancing acquisition. I am staying to 3.5 and will then consider options. Hopefully it will happen next year.
All my research to date confirms my positive feeling about this company. I expect further significant growth in the coming year. Onwards and upwards.
It may just be the familiar 'sell in May .... ' syndrome. The prospect of a restored dividend keeps me in.
75% should read 25%.
This has risen 2% so far today on a volume of 10 shares purchased. Despite huge sales and very few purchases the share price has risen by an incredible 75% since January. It just does not add up. What is going on?
This seems to be the first post here. I have been watching the share price for some weeks now since it was recommended as a 'buy' on at least two occasions, once in the Sunday times and once on a radio business programme. Since the peak on 18 Dec it has lost 20%. Thankfully I did not follow the recommendation. A substantial dividend was mentioned but I can find no information to substantiate this. Perhaps someone out there knows.
I have recently bought some ZAM shares and I am very hopeful. Having read a number of articles, the most recent in yesterday's Sunday Times, on the emerging middle classes in a number of African countries I am convinced that a company such as Zambeef who seem to be an increasingly diversified food production and distribution company is well positioned to have a bright future. There will be some hitches, of course, but I think the share-price graph over the next few years will be steadily upwards. This is my own opinion but DYOR
My first post here, though I have held these beauties for many years. What can I say except to say thank heavens for shares like Chesnara which have consistently performed like a dream in comparsion to the disastrous mining and oil stocks which have caused me so much loss and grief and to ask why did I not put all my money in here. Best wishes to all who have discovered and stayed with Chesnara. Long may they continue to perform positively.
Wexboy your analysis in this instance seems too narrowly focused and rigid. The present share price well exceeds your pessimistic forecast.
Is this company obsolete or what is happening? Have'nt been been keeping an eye on it regrettably but now I find my shareholding has gone down more than 98%. in value. Is there any hope of recovery or is it near liquidation? Does anyone know please?
I also bought in here on poor advice, against my better judgment and with very little knowledge of the company but it seemed that a company once valued at 70p+ a share might be good value at about 8p. What a mistake, and that on top of several disastrous other 'investments' this year. Can anyone here tell me if there is any hope for this seemingly hopeless share?
