Certification is done by independent third parties (experts), and banks and approved validation and verification bodies to world class standards.

It usually takes 2-4 weeks barring any issues and is completely independent of Kefi.

Smelter royalties are a reasonable source of funds when gold prices are stable and other source not available. In a rising price enviroment they are akin to a hangmans noose. A very expensive way for funding in current economic climate.
