Nanostory, a lot of what you say may be correct, but the board have given the strongest indication they could give that we should expect orders in 2023. If that occurs then there should be a re-rating of the share price. If our material goes into the iphone and there's good media coverage then who knows where we'll end up.

In short, give it till the end of the year.

Does anyone know (particularly Intrusive) whether the spatial camera technology in the vision pro (and possibly future iphones) could use our materials?

I think there's a distinction here between the likelihood of the first use case and the assumption made in the accounts. I'm not sure what the rules are on making assumptions in accounts but it's probably good practice to be conservative, because making future plans based on optimistic outcomes is financially risky for a business.

In reality, I think they really don't know, as do none of us.

Correct me if I'm wrong Kooba, but I don't think they've ever said the first use case is *likely* to lead to modest orders. Personally I see no reason why it shouldn't be a mobile first use case.

I haven't been a shareholder for that long, but from what I know about the last 10 years it does seem BT is accurate when he said we're closer to production than ever before.

But agree, a cautious approach contrasted with the bombastic litigation talk!

Kooba, I agree with some of that but I question your statement that Nanoco don't have order "visibility". I think they do have visibility, which is why they've been hiring and increasing the raw material stocks. But until they get the actual order from STMicro they won't release an RNS.

Given that the report only presents STMicro as a near to medium term supplier of SWIR sensors for the consumer market did they just use their projected revenues?

I have no idea what the IT stuff means, but does anybody with a vague idea know if it's definitely/likely/possibly be STMicro that is the customer requiring the transition?

Two next vacancies for summer interns. This one caught my eye:

"QEHS/Production Team Summer Intern

Improvement Project to implement electronic batch sheets

We are looking for a 1st year University student, or someone of high IT Literacy, to help aid the transfer

of batch sheets into a new electronic system (which is currently being defined under the six sigma

Intrusive, I think at the last count we had 5 customers, 2 being STMicro and the Asian customers. Do you have any idea who the others are and in what markets they operate?

@nanostory, no the CFQD tech is used in display only. Any sensor STMicro produces will have our Heatwave dots, which are very different as far as I am aware.

At the moment, no-one has produced SWIR sensors for commercial devices. STMicro should be about to change that. If so, it will be the only player in the market.

From the details about the Asian customer, it supplies the world's biggest sensor manufacturer i.e. Sony. Sony already make a SWIR sensor for industrial applications. If STMicro make a success of the SWIR consumer market they wouldn't want to allow them 100% market share, so it is possible Sony will also enter the market. But if they do there is also a good chance we will supply the dots for their sensors.

Btw, the Yole report is SWIR only. Nanoco also have a NIR material in final production.

intrusive, i think he's a very ****ed off investor who overreacted following the settlement, realises he won't have the support to oust the board, and is now trying to work out whether there's enough value in the organic business to not dump them and move on. in other words, he could be persuaded by the opportunities in the organic business with enough information. if you want him to stop making a scene then better to engage rather than dismiss him.

I would also say that boards like this, when they are decent, are a great source of DD for small caps.

Intrusive, I think everyone should be more constructive. As much as you might disagree with Hammi it's perfectly reasonable for someone to invest in a company for one reason and then be interested in maintaining that investment for another reason. Also, if we do get commercial orders this year he may well end up with enormous profits.

I'm going to attempt a response to this but the tech isn't my strong point. (Btw good to see you're becoming more interested in the organic business nanostory):

1. My estimate based on Runcorn having capacity for a few hundred million devices with revenue of c. £100m is that we'll currently get c. 30p per sensor. My guess would be that 20% or so of that $2.1b would be attributable to Nanoco's materials (assuming all of the end products have our materials, which I'm not saying is likely but could be possible).

2. I think you've got this wrong. The sensors (NIR and SWIR) don't have use our CFQD patents. The CFQD are in display, not sensors. The Yole report doesn't envisage any SWIR sensors ending up in consumer devices apart from STMicro's in the near to medium term. If that were the case and those Yole figures turned out to be true Nanoco's materials would be in 100% of the consumer market. If Sony enter the SWIR consumer market too then there's a good chance we will supply them via the Asian customer.

3. Again, I don't think the sensors use CFQD. Those companies you mention may be supplying QDs for industrial SWIR sensors, but as far as the Yole report goes they are not going to supply materials for consumer SWIr sensors.

4. Not sure about this, but I think our sensor focused IP has a longer validity period.

5. Don't think so, based on the above.
