Agreed it's indisputable that the market doesn't trust the company at the moment.

The negative view is that the board misguided the market about the Samsung litigation, it's in chaos following the EGM, the display market is unlikely to produce revenue, the IP is now fairly worthless and although there's a commercial order there's no guarantee of bigger orders and it's loss-making.

The positive view is that we're cash rich and our IP protected dots could easily be in most smartphones and cars in the next 5 years.

I think the only thing guaranteed to shift the share price is a decent commercial order. Reaction to the Vision Pro might, but might not.

As much as the market has zero trust in BT right now he did deliver on the commercial order in 2023.

Earlier this year I speculated that the sensor might end up in this year's iphone, which I got completely wrong. For that reason I agree that the Vision Pro is the most likely application for the sensors. Whether that shifts the share price (assuming there is a tear down) is anyone's guess. Could be minimal, could be massive.

On the subject of iphones, I think the sensors could be slated for the iphone 17 in 2025. That is when, apparently, Face ID will go under screen. It also seems to align with the expectations for self-financing, which got shifted from 2024 to 2025, and in March this year there were reports that under display Face ID had been delayed from the iphone 16 to 17 (in the Pro model that is).

If you look at the latest RNS, it says they expect self-financing in CY25 but low volume applications only in FY25. That would require an application for a least a decent medium order size to come out between August 2025 and December 2025. Which is period for iphone releases.

Anyway, idle speculation and I got my last prediction horribly wrong!

Comparing the Vision Pro to phones and watches has limited utility IMHO. Everyone has a phone these days, most people have a watch. Will everyone need a headset? Possibly but it's far from certain.

Investors like us really don't know enough about the tech to judge whether or not it will take off.

What we do know is that STMicro has spent tens of millions on this tech, and it wouldn't have spent that amount if it wasn't very confident it would end up in high volume applications like phones. If at any point in the process it had lost its confidence it would have pulled the project.

That for me is the most persuasive reason to think the technology will grow exponentially.

To everyone getting excited about Nanoco's dots being in the Vision Pro, can you explain why?

As I've said before, the numbers being touted will produce minimal revenue. Is it therefore the prestige of being involved with Apple? How do you think the share price would value that involvement? Do you think it would boost interest in Nanoco's materials and quantum dots generally? Interested to hear different viewpoints.

AR/VR headsets really isn't a material revenue stream for Nanoco. Mobile phones is where we need to be, and that's why STMicro have invested so much.

The benefit from headsets would be good PR, especially the Vision Pro. It's difficult to know how much premium it good give the share price, could be minimal could.be.massive.

Jokes aside, it's worth noting that LOAM didn't just buy that 6m block, but must have bought another 2m or so shares since the last notification period.

1. RNS tomorrow saying we've signed a commercial contract. Share price rises and LOAM dump their position.

2. RNS on Monday saying it's for £100k only and they don't expect bigger orders until 2028. Share price plummets.

Unless the share price moves significantly higher there's no way they can do a buyback with the full £32-40m.

I suspect they'll start with a tender offer and then do a B/C share scheme so remaining shareholders can choose income/capital treatment. It may take a few months to complete.

The share price is depressed because there are more sellers than buyers. I know that's stating the obvious but there really is zero interest in the stock right now. Unless you can get your capital return/dividend tax free I don't see why anyone would want to buy now, unless they think a commercial order will boost the share price (which it should imho).

Would any airpod sensors be image sensors though? Seems unlikely.

LordWM, I broadly agree but as I've said before potential investors today have to consider the prospect of getting 75% of their invested money back as a dividend on which they may have to pay tax.

Arguably better to wait until after the capital return.

I think what Tuesday will bring will be further delay on validation and first order. Which will be frustrating .

Good find Nanonano. I think the words in those brackets is positive, but I wouldn't read too much into it. Apple have patents with quantum dots in them so even if ST don't have any arrangement with Apple in the pipeline he could still say those words.

So the board have decided not to do an Investor Meets where shareholders can ask questions.

After they promised to increase transparency after the EGM. Disappointing to say the least.
