LLP … I did exactly the same as you with 20k shares … sold out first thing and then bought back in at a higher price after the bounce … which appears to be reversed again this morning !! As you say it’s only money , which Trump and his cronies will be making a lot of right now. Every time he posts on Truth Social the market manipulation is getting bigger….

It’s certainly a test of resolve seeing the share price fall as sharply as it has done since this war started. Personally have a touch over 40k shares in RR which I’ve held for a long time and have enjoyed a fantastic ride. My belief in the company is undiminished and I think it will continue to be a great investment going forward, it’s no one trick pony and defence and SMRs should provide plenty of growth opportunities. On the downside it’s stressful watching your money slide away as quickly as it did yesterday ( almost £30k in a day ) with no idea about how much worse this can get and for how long. So I totally understand why lth’s would decide to bail out and the the profit they’ve made with the chance to buy back in if it drops lower. I did the same myself when I got spooked by Trumps tariffs and took a significant loss when the price rebounded so quickly and I wasn’t able to react in time so I’ve learned the hard way that it’s impossible to time the market exactly right. We’re now back at the share price level of end January and if it continues to slide next week then I might well reassess my decision to hold come what may because Trump and the Ayatollahs are such a dangerous combination. If he wakes up on the wrong side of the bed one morning Kharg Island could be vaporised and there’s no predicting what Iran will do next. It’s a very difficult call this one … RR just posted great results, everything else seems very positive looking forward and one day hopefully in the not too distant future this will have seemed like a great opportunity to top up. By years end with any luck we will be looking at £15 or more , that’s the lth view I’ve been sticking with. On the other hand if the market carries on the way it’s going down we might be looking at £11 by the end of next week… it’s a predicament isn’t it ?

Graviton .. dead right there , and so say all of us. Let’s hope that today marks the beginning of the long road to recovery… all of us sitting here on substantial paper losses deserve a break.

As horrific as today was there aren’t too many days where you’d see 40pc wiped off of a company share price especially when it’s a boring steady old business like buses… how the hell they’ve got into this state when they were reinstating dividends recently is just ridiculous. I’m fuming over what stands tonight as a 65pc paper loss on a substantial chunk of shares but I can’t help thinking that today’s collapse has been a little overdone .Am I clutching at straws ? A collapse of this magnitude is what happens when companies are about to go bust and Mobico are a long way from that position yet surely ? The NASB sale was disappointing but mid range to previous estimates, debt can now be reduced and there’s still ALSA as the cash cow. I’m not investing a penny more here but it doesn’t look like a Cineworld yet surely not ? Garat needs to go next week to at least restore a tiny amount of investor confidence but the valuation is so low now tbh at surely the only way is either up or bust from here over the next year ?

I was hoping to see a 20-30pc bounce in the sp after end of year accounts and some news on the sale of NASB … and now feeling utterly stupid to have held these and averaged down on the price over the last couple of years. Today’s RNS was the final kick in the nuts. We’ve all lost a fortune here , clearly either the next stage is a long drawn out bankruptcy or more likely a cheap as chips offer from Cosmens. Either way the pi’s get shafted but I just want to get out of this with a bit of my money back so I’ll wait for the Cosmens offer to come , I sold hand of my holding in the mid 50’s this morning after hesitating for 10 minutes as it slid , wish I’d sold the rest then. But I’m not selling out in the 30’s , I suspect it won’t be too long before the end game plays out here now.

If we ever see 90p on this again via a Cosmens carve up or otherwise I’d be absolutely delighted as things now stand …

Got out of half of my holding in the 50’s at a big loss (£30k plus ) which is very painful but couldn’t face taking the full hit today… the other half are parked up in an ISA waiting/ hoping for a better day to come which I expect will be a couple of years away should it ever come. But wtf once again with this company , ineptitude piles on ineptitude… Garat is very obviously the Cosmens useful idiot , why is he still there otherwise?

Just read again a broker note from last year that was posted on here recently and the sale price appears to be more or less in line with their previous mid range expectations ;

‘Bank of America estimated an enterprise value of GBP200 to GBP700 million with a base case at around GBP400 million.’

Given everything that’s going on in Trumpland right now perhaps it’s not that bad a deal ? Anyway let’s see how the market reacts , at least we now know.

What an absolute shambles this company is .. the worst choice of investment that I ever made in a share by a country mile. It’s not looking good for another shocker of a year end is it ? Opened green this morning on my app now nearly 5pc down … I wonder if there a bit of early leakage from whatever is about to be released?

Hutchies you’re not alone there mate I did exactly the same thing yesterday, sold at 650 in the morning after seeing China’s second tariff coming , over analysed the effect that might have on prices and then watched as the US market unbelievably opened up in the afternoon. Trump had given his buddies the heads up as it transpired. I’ve bought back in this morning at £7.20 which has lost me about £30k I guess but it’s a small portion of the profit that I made in RR ( thanks to NTC ! ) so I too saw it as insurance. We’re not out of the woods by a long chalk and the Orange Loon can and probably will crash the market again with some further idiocy but RR is a terrific company and the future looks bright so fingers crossed. I also bought IAG today which has been really badly hit by Trumps antics and I’ve a good feeling that will come good again soon. I look forward to the day when Trump is held to account for the crookedness that has surely gone on with this whole fiasco , it’s grand larceny imo. Anyway GLA and hope we get back to that magical £8 figure soon.

Robert I’m not one to judge or argue with people on these forums, mostly I look at them to help my decision making and like others I owe a massive debt of thanks to Nettles on the RR forum for his very wise advice on the past direction of the RR share price. Which will come again , it’s a great share to I invest in and I’ve got cash in my ISA waiting to come back in again when all of this Trump lunacy seems to have run it’s course. But you’re quoting Trumps tweets as a reason to buy and then inferring that a minion like me comes on here trying to move a share price further down with a post on a website that a small number of private investors read … be serious. Trump is a convicted felon , serial liar and a narcissist on a power trip. Did you inject yourself with bleach during Covid too ?

Robert .. nothing odd in my post and I definitely have sold out a position that I held for 3 years and still came up well in front of course… but speaking of odd posts , you’re taking share advice from Trumps tweets then ?

I sold out earlier this afternoon when it touched £6.50 and despite swallowing a six figure loss of profit since this started a week ago it feels like a big pressure has been lifted. Trump and his minions are either barking mad or are committing a massive short scam , probably both at the same time. Covid was a tough period for investors but this just feels like a total con job being played and there is no trusting a word that comes out of their mouths. Eventually this has to get better but it certainly looks like it’s going to get a whole lot worse in the short term. Good luck to everyone who has the courage and patience to hold here and hope that you all get the reward that you deserve. I’m certainly going to miss the bounce which is coming but I’m looking at the share price today which is essentially the price from the end of Feb just a few weeks ago and am pretty fearful that a big drop from this level is much more likely than a return to £8 for the next month or two. I made good money on RR over the last 3 years and I’m struggling to get my head around the fact that a hormonal narcissist OAP who gets out bed the wrong side one morning can so easily destroy a market and people’s lives the way that is happening. Just because he wants to show who has the power. It’s insanity.

I’m sure that I’ve seen it posted on here before but I started listening to a podcast on RR yesterday when out on a walk , it’s on Business Breakdowns. What a great company this is and totally reinforces faith in Tufan who seems to be doing fantastic work in focusing on improving the bottom line. When the dust settles with Trump throwing a wobbly against the world it’s not hard to see how this could even play out in favour of RR. They’re operating in a duopoly market place with only one serious competitor who happens to be American. And Trump is suddenly making America everyone’s enemy. Short term it’s extremely dangerous for the share prices of course , long term this could be extremely helpful for RR in world markets. Who can trust the US after recent events?

Let’s hope this isn’t a false dawn. Good to see a bounce this morning but the psycho isn’t finished over tariffs , quite the contrary he’s ratcheting up the threats on China. Xi doesn’t have to appease an electorate and seems in no mood to back down. The EU haven’t announced retaliation but it’s coming and we know that Trump will threaten escalation if those measures contain anything he takes exception to. Probably I’ve done the wrong thing but I went half to cash yesterday on my holdings , there’s a massive threat of downside with Trump behaving like he’s Emperor Nero. RR in my opinion is the best investment out there but there’s a lot of people who have made good money here so the potential for an over correction is obvious should the American idiot crash the wider market further. VIX is now up at Covid levels and that’s another red flag for me. I’m still heavily invested here and planning to slowly drip money back in over the next few weeks depending how things are looking. GLA.

It’s really hard to take those kind of paper losses and we’re all in the same boat I think . At the end of the day you have to make the call and live with the decision. I tell myself that this will reverse eventually, even a madman like Trump will know better than to destroy the world economy and if he doesn’t change course then he’s going down the JFK route because he’s upsetting a lot of people even in the US , big and small. Timing is the issue with this. It’s easy to hit the sell button and by the end of next week that sell decision might be looking good. But let’s say you sold £500ks worth … when do you jump back in ? Probably not at the bottom and probably not all in one hit as you’re going to fear making another loss if you call it wrong. The bounce when it comes is going to be big. Timing is the key and impossible to predict especially with Trump who changes like the wind. That’s why I’m staying invested here but it’s going to be a tough week ahead especially if the EU retaliation comes.

Why would anyone bother shorting a whipped dog like MCG when there are far bigger fish to fry out there ?

The shorters now have much bigger and better targets, it’s fish in a barrel time for them. Maybe this would be a good week for MCG to bury bad news if the reason for the delay in reporting up to now is that they are going to drop disappointing results again. Whatever happens it’s hard to see many companies share prices going up significantly this week and as this one has already been trashed at least it’d be good to be put out of our misery and see what the numbers look like. Nobody on this board I think will be too surprised if we get another big slap around the face and the promise of jam tomorrow but surely they’ll have to publish soon ?

I’m a lth in RR and just about six figures down this week and had a couple of sleep interrupted nights fuming about it. I had considered selling before the orange turds Liberation Day but didn’t foresee the extent of the carnage that he’s wrought in the markets. The Joker has taken over Gotham it seems. But I keep reminding myself that you can’t time the market. I spent to cash during the covid crash and crystallised my losses. I then sat on my hands in fear of doing the wrong thing and missed out on several of the best days ever seen in my lifetime and lost the opportunities to recover those losses … that cost me circa £100k at the time and I swore to myself never to repeat the same mistake again. Now we’re at another black swan event stay or go decision. I’m confident that RR is a great company with a great future ahead and this will recover eventually. The madman can easily change his mind next week or next month as I can’t imagine that the 70pc of Yanks that invest in stocks are sat there too happy with him this weekend. Next week is going to be tough watching prices slide further and thinking that we should have gone to cash and protected our gains. But it’s almost impossible to time coming back in again that’s the problem and the reversal will happen very quickly I think. Stay invested and this will be a bad memory in a year. Fingers crossed 🤞
