When Garrett Soden stated, the result of C1 was an opportunity for investors, I don't think he was referring to people like you and I. I think he was talking about Africa Energy.

It is the most peculiar thing I have ever seen in a presentation. They can't confirm 87 has no thief zones until it's drilled.. however, it appears its become an issue post c1. I have drawn my conclusions.. it is guesswork but perhaps a piece of the jigsaw.. Indeed.. a bit more patience..

Personally, I don't think the west of the licence gives them reason to be particularly excited with regards to the new licence. Yes, we still have a deeper undrilled target, (and a good one) but I smell something else. The excitement they mention has something to do with the east.. (imo)

Yes, I think it's well documented on the western half, the deeper zones need to be drilled. it's whats to the east that I think the board are getting 'excited' with? The read across from cormorant, and therefore all those potential targets within 30 and 37. Sounds like they are identifying a number of structures in the east via the 2D data.

Following on from my ramblings early hours, this is an old article from 2014 and perhaps a clue to what they are so excited about in 94?

Looking at the picture, it confirms the Welwitschia-1A was drilled to the west of the licence, but look at all the unassigned oil slicks, thermogenic gas shows plus the oil found in the Albian carbonates in a previous drill.. All to the east. Keep going east and we get to Cormorant which we know produced significant oil, then moved on due to trap failure.

Omg.. must go to bed but.. Was the data room ever closed? It was still open in July, next we heard they terminated the mandate..

One last thing.. Namcor.. just an idea.. is it possible we were awarded 94 purely to help with 29. The timing was impeccable when I think about it. The award and result of cormorant really were just days apart and the board have been excited ever since. Does 94 ensure some attention will be given to 29? Wish they'd hurry up with some meat on the bones so we can put the jigsaw puzzle together. What do you want a yet to materialise possible 25% for? Why did you terminate the mandate at a crucial time and too soon after the data room closed?

I'll do some research tomorrow about repsols drill. If it was to the west it might give an explanation. Oil doesn't migrate across faults, it bubbles up the fault.. maybe. (Sound familiar) Really need a presentation.. showing what they think we've got. It makes sense that the oil has migrated and is structurally trapped on the east of the fault.

I'm thinking Tullow and Africa Energy.. same partnership as commorant..

I think they may have drilled to the west of the fault? Not sure..

And I should add, and area where we have structural traps..

The interest in 29 might not come until later. If I were Tullow, Africa Energy, Azinam than I would be chasing the path, on trend with Exxons block and that path leads to the east of 94, an area with strong evidence of hydrocarbons. lots of flag waving.. We wait like a ship lost at sea for the response.

Closer, further , I don't think it's going to matter. We know the source kitchen is a gooden.. the problem to date are the traps. South Africa's recent structural find may just hold the clue as to what type of trap is required.
