PEL 37 alone..

The total estimated oil potential of the four main Prospects mapped so far in PEL 37 is 915 Million Barrels of Oil*.
Additional potential exists in large “Leads” that have also been identified.

Are they looking again to see where it might be? Gotta look up dip regarding migration..

Jim has discovered a PGS survey that is currently on going. Looking at where it is surveying is very interesting particularly as our PEL 94 was included but we have been told nothing, nadda, zip! I can only guess it is linked to both June and September quarterly's mentioning the initial contacts with counterparties and further contacts made with counterparties with a view to a possible farm out of 29 & 94? What else could it be? Coincidence? We are left guessing at the mo.

However, it does leave questions.. why our PEL 94 but not across PEL 29? Would any outcome of Welwitschia deep decide the fate of Gemsbok? Lets go further.. what about the entire clump of prospects in that location? In total there are 6 of note within 2 companies : Welwitchia, Gemsbok, Lion, Dik Dik, Alpha and Gamma. Why only survey Welwitschia plus unknown others in PEL 94?

Would the outcome of Welwitschia deep decide the fate of Gemsbok and those others? One of these desperately needs the drill bit to test below the over pressured and newly suspected regional seal in this location. Is Welwitschia the pick of the bunch?

Or..

Is it something to do with the triangle of companies? that being ECO, Africa Energy and Azinam? We are up dip from 30, 33 & 37 and where Africa Energy in 37 have the main risk of thief zones/conduits/migration distance risk.. I would suggest ECO's PEL 30 next door does too, Tullow ran from 30 for a reason and of course we have read across into 94 from 30 & 37.. Is it 30 too?

Yep.. looking at that image it is clear from the Wingat oil discovery to the Namibe Basin, it is up dip all the way.

Mmmm.. my hunch is its all about Welwitschia and looking at the image you provided a while back showing just how far away the drill bit was from the regional seal.. I can see why. It has pock marks galore, terminating gas chimneys, unassigned oil slick etc etc..
Some 3d on 94 is already available as we know but the board have not purchased it yet I feel they rather hurried info out on 2 prospects based on 2d. Now we have a seismic ship running across it.. and it’s all hush hush..

It does appear to be tracking the image on the ‘Exxon enters: Is this a defining moment for Pancontinental?’ article.. so far..

I’ve begun to follow it with location updates today so I’m a bit behind. Did it stop off at the Walvis port? Could it be currently following a shipping path onto its next destination or do you think it is running up and down 37?

The Prospective Resources are based on 2D seismic data and geological information, including analogues, to which Global has access at the current time. Global is confident that more prospects and leads will be identified once it has licensed and interpreted the remainder of the existing seismic data in PEL0094, both 2D and 3D, as well as tying in some of the analogous reservoirs in offset wells.

PEL 29

The firm additional work programme consists of various studies, including mapping of source rock, mapping of contourites deposits, fault studies and amplitude versus offset (AVO) analyses and extended elastic impedance (EEI) studies on seismic data. The financial commitment to undertake the firm additional work programme is US$350,000.

Brupadda is at a water depth of 1431m.. The Paddavissie Fairway. A recent article..

Petroleum Geo-Services ASA is acquiring 2,200 sq km of 3D seismic using the PGS Apollo seismic vessel. In this second phase of 3D seismic work on the block, the joint venture plans to cover the remainder of the Paddavissie Fairway to better delineate the prospects and leads identified on the previous 2D and 3D data.
