I agree Boyo a very interesting week to come. This has been pushed down below 350p on pretty low volume, I could imagine a few stop losses could have been activated and it will have got rid of a few panicky sellers.
In the short term I’m not too sure which way this is going to go, I’m very much thinking of the bigger picture and at these levels it’s a bargain.
Sounds like someone who’s just sold his shares. Everyone has their own strategies, personally I think at these levels you can’t go wrong with a LTH.
The train is arriving soon and once it leaves there’s no getting back on it.
I finally decided to sell this morning after holding this for the past 8 months. A few months ago I thought I could see a clearer picture of where this was going but with the revenues expected to decline again 5-15% I feel this is only heading one way.
The sale of topshop would solve some of the problems with clearing up some debt, then that’s only a short term fix as I can only see further revenue decline selling it.
I feel lucky to be able to get out at 372p this morning.
They’ve been pushed back to the 26th September.
Total group sales were up 5.4% to £2.63bn.
"The uncomfortable transition of sales from retail to online appears to have slowed to a more manageable level, not least because less than 35% of our sales are now in shops. Alongside this change, Retail property costs have dropped to levels more in line with current trading volumes," Next said.
"Looking ahead to 2024/25 it is likely that inflationary pressures on selling prices and operating costs will continue to ease," the company said as it unveiled a 4.8% rise in half-year profit to £420m.
No point even taking people like this on, not worth your time replying to them. There’s a lot of rampers and Derampers on here, who normally have just sold and then want to make themselves feel better by posting on here.
I’m currently 13% up now was nearly 20 earlier on today but have no intention of selling as I can see this being around 700p mark towards December if we get positive results.
I’d get out whilst you can this will be back in the 100s with the war with Russia! This could be down 20% today.
It was a big rise on no new news so I expected it to go back down. I got out yesterday on the rise, only made £400 on a big investment, just worked out the pros and cons at the moment and thought it was too high risk for me as I can’t afford to hold these for longer than a year.
Genuinely think these will do well especially over a 5 year period, hydrogen is definitely the future and wish everyone luck.
In the short term, I think with inflation and interest rates going up the market will bully itm lower unless they can announce some good deals. Should be support at 230p but if that gets broke these could be in free fall.
Looks like the shorters will have caught a few people out, onwards and upwards from now hopefully!
This is evidence of what is to come for the rest of the year with this company, with a share price of 240p at the moment I can’t see a much better time to get in.
The shorters has absolutely destroyed this share at the moment but hopefully this will be a turning point.
I feel like this has been overvalued when it pushed into 500/600 range but should definitely be around the 300/400 range for now.
Then over years this should just go higher and higher, long term you can’t go wrong.
This will bounce back today, results aren’t anything different to what anyone expected.
People with stop losses will just get caught out by bigger players.
If you’re in it for the long game you can’t go wrong at these prices. You’ve got to remember a lot of institutions signed up at 400p.
£300m cash in the bank with relatively low cash burn.
Pending deals should be confirmed throughout the start of this year, sales are just going up year on year.
I genuinely thought it was a good rns and I’m happy to be in because this will be the future.
Good luck everyone else.
Definitely being shorted here, making a lot of people panic sell, looks well oversold to me now, won’t be long before it’s back over 300p. Obviously depending on the Russia situation though and the financial results but can’t see the financials being a problem, as in altering the SP too much.
Think everyone’s been stunned by the bid for GSK.
Looking at the SP now though, to me it looks oversold and I’ve topped up. Might regret that but in the long term I think it’s an excellent entry point.
Good luck everyone else.
410p HERE WE GO!
Strong results should be a good day imo.
Yeah you won’t have a problem
It’s nice to hear both sides of the argument Gary, personally I don’t think the tech bubble will affect us that much. If anything I’d say more people are likely to come back to solid stocks like this if it bursts so might not be a bad thing.
If you look at the charts March always seems to be Unilever’s low point and from July onwards across the summer it tends to be the high point. At the moment I’d say it’s cheap for a low risk solid stock.
Given the share price was 4700p by the end of July last year I think it should be higher this year. We had no vaccine in site by that time last year where as this year all age groups will have had a jab by then.
After June 21st when people can go out anywhere and holiday that should boost the SP as well. The ice cream side of things should have a strong summer with people getting out again and the beauty side of things should do well as well.
The only thing I can see slowing the SP down is a strong pound.
This might’ve posted twice LSE doesn’t seem to be working well.
