I don't think AIM stocks are for everyone. So much blame when things get a little rough (not unusual with AIM stocks) Only person to blame is ourselves for making a bad decision - if that's what you think this is based on current SP. Golden rule is to invest only what you are prepared to lose but hope it goes up! Personally I think this share will come good in time. LFD's are far from over and we will see them used in many ways in the coming years. I also believe this SP will rise, over time. How long - who knows
Abbott ID now is installed in a huge number of NHS hospitals and in huge numbers. Abbott is a machine of a company with large sales team and of course central lab contracts up and down the land. I have seen pallet loads of ID now reagent packs in multiple hospitals - and of course one of the biggest challenges any company faces is connecting POC devices to lab middleware and guess what.... Abbott supply this FOC when you take the ID Now - a real blocker to try and replace. UK Market will be an uphill battle for GDR or anyone else in the hospital setting.
Apologies if I was rude - it wasn't my intention.
If converting to EV gets all caravans off the road - it gets my vote!
I can't convince you - I don't need to as you will be driving an EV (with or without caravan) But to dismiss solar and wind when our planet is literally falling apart is a little surprising. Sure the technology might not support it today but if we don't start to challenge the status quo then what hope is there?
Anyway, back to watching share prices .
Towing caravan - yes they can
Heating in sub zero reduces range by around 20-30% not 50%
Filling up - charge at home and office and only use stations when absolutely necessary - just good planning.
Yorkshire to Cornwall - full charge then one stop at a rapid charger......all in same day (Should probably stop more frequently regardless of fuel type)
What has the BBC got to do with this? What a strange comment.
You can put your head in the sand as much as you want but one thing is for sure - you will be driving an EV sooner than you think. Enjoy it
Have a look at Abbott ID Now. This platform is in the vast majority of UK hospitals and have added Flu A/B and RSV to the list of respiratory virus's. Cost per test around £25 each. PHE is like a traction engine - reliable but slow. GDR has missed the boat in the UK but the global target is huge for POC testing
PoC for CoV is pretty much over in the developed world - that ship has sailed. Go to any hospital (I do every day) and you will literally bundles of the Abbott ID Now analysers and pallet loads of reagents ready to run. Laboratory testing is pretty much the same - everyone and their dog has developed an assay and put in on the multiple automation platforms available (Including Biomek)
GDR had an opportunity but missed it in regards to CoV testing. True despite what people want to hear. I don't get it as other small players have done incredibly well getting assays to market is super quick time and they didn't have an agreement with Beckman Coulter.
AIHL looks promising but it's a low volume, niche assay so revenues - I wouldn't hold my breath for great numbers.
Expect nothing. It is a decision each of us make to invest based on what we know, what we hope and what we believe based on our limited understanding. Expecting news / profits etc is going to leave you disappointed.....sometimes!
Really? You want to blame DB for you making a decision to invest - grow up ya big girl. If winning was that easy everyone would be a millionaire ffs....
In a few weeks when, hopefully, the SP is significantly higher than it is today you will no doubt be singing the praises of Mr Budd.
For future reference, nothing is certain with shares and growth is rarely vertical
One month ago today this share was 40p. So it is fluctuating a bit - pretty normal! Fundamentals remain the same, GDR are partnered with a global leader in lab diagnostics and they have a huge installed base of analysers. Moving from having an assay available and getting it validated and live takes some time. Sales will increase, new customers will be found and the share price will increase.....hopefully! Some real negative people posting in here - if you want a safe investment then go to your bank and reap the 0.5% (If you're lucky) they will give you.
The blinder that has been played here by GDR and BC is the partnership for automation and assay. There are only a few high throughput robotic systems available for PCR and leading competitors like Hamilton have not partnered with an assay supplier. BC / GDR now offers a one stop shop for automation, extraction and PCR - Mr Budd has done an incredible job to negotiate such a partnership and there must be many other small PCR companies looking from outside and wondering why they didn't do the same.....
Pretty sure that will be the end game. This is what Danaher do - BC was the biggest acquisition in their diagnostics / life science portfolio but many others have also been bought by them - Radiometer, Leica, Hemocue, Ab Sciex etc and so if they get traction with GDR kit on their platform I would imagine it will be bought. A good exit for the board too!
The merchants of doom posting negative comments....you really have no knowledge of just how big Beckman Coulter / Danaher are! They have a massive footprint globally and many high performing sales teams. Why such negativity? did you sell a bit quick and lose a few pennies - move on.... although opportunities like what is happening here don't come around every day
Hi BigAl,
We can certainly sell in the U.S. There are some tiny companies selling to some really unscrupulous labs - and making a lot of money. BC / Danaher will not do this and to be honest we don't want them to. If / When the BC thing gets moving it should be done with all approvals in place and to their already high quality customer base - this will be fast as they are literally everywhere in the U.S
Personally I feel confident in this share - I'm only in for 5K so appreciate the stress much bigger investors are under but panic changes nothing! DB is a canny fella - I worked with him many moons ago and he isn't stupid although he can't make approvals happen and so is like the rest of us in that regard.....waiting and hoping!
Agree with you.
USA with BC is best opportunity. BC have a vast installed base of the Biomek analysers and adding a BC validated test to these will be relatively simple when approvals come.
POC offers potential out side of UK IMO - UK already has many POC devices placed and running.
personally I still fell relatively positive - if the BC thing doesn't happen then less so
