"The Final dividendToday 14:05
capital that was not distributed to shareholders due to PRA intervention (no blame attached to Lloyds), could at some point in the future be paid as a 'special dividend', providing of course that Lloyds do not post losses for the rest of the year, or they anticipate losses. I assume this would be paid to shareholders holding shares at the time of such a 'special' payment, and not to those who had shares at the time of the dividend cancellation and have subsequently sold."
Longterminvestor, it could also be argued that, those that Sold this stock, when notified that Dividends were to be cancelled,-wouldn't have SOLD-but would have remained invested to collect their due Divi-however they chose.
Further, some of those Investors, could, be longer Term Invested than yourself ?
