RE: Rare metals to be mined in Greece: What is happening in Molaus and Chios16 Dec 2024 11:52
A developing project that helps Europe the Molai, Rockfire emphasizes
According to Rockfire, Molai "is a growing project, helping Europe achieve its ambitions of domestically sourcing critical raw materials, including the geologically rare mineral germanium." At the same time, with a newer post, the company commented that "last week was an important turning point for Rockfire. China banned germanium exports to the US, while the UK added zinc to its list of critical minerals. Rockfire's Molaus project has both of these elements in abundance, a fact recognized by the AIM market during the week as over 30% of the company's shares traded. Fundamentals for germanium and zinc (and, by extension, Rockfire, the Molao project and Greece) show a "positive outlook".
It is pointed out that germanium is a very critical mineral, which has valuable applications in the context of the green transition. In particular, germanium is used in the manufacture of photovoltaics, in optical fibers, which are essential for data management and communication in smart electricity grids, in electric mobility technologies, as well as in hydrogen production infrastructures. At the same time, the strategic importance of germanium is also explained by its applications in the fields of defense and high technology.
