The Manchester Evening News has once again consolidated its position as the UK’s biggest regional news brand with a 44pc year-on-year increase in its audience.

Latest IPSOS traffic figures for regional news sites show the MEN with 12m unique users in September, up from 8.3m in the same month in 2024.

The Reach-owned title also posted a 25pc increase in monthly page views, from 55.3m in September 2024 to 69.3m last month.

Other big-city sites in the Reach stable which saw significant audience growth include Wales Online (up 30.5pc), Liverpool Echo (up 46.39pc), Examiner Live (up 120.3pc) and Bristol Live (up 89.5pc.)
