Increased agricultural output

Although the mine footprint is about 5,200 hectares only about a third of the land will be used for mining at any one time. The remainder will remain in productive use either prior to mining or following rehabilitation after mining. Currently farmers in the area are able to achieve mostly two crops per year. As a result of year round irrigation, improved water quality, improved farming inputs and farming practices it will be possible to produce three crops per year with higher yields than at present.

As Bara & Phulbari coal seams are joined. One of the discussions/ideas years & years ago was to open pit both at same time & backfill from Phulbari into Bara to further reduce the mines footprint.

I believe one issue was the fact they’d built the power plant on top of the coal seam.

It wasn’t the green light though. It was just an article letting us know the feasibility of the project is being discussed at government level now.

This is still great news & a step closer.

People only get disappointed here because they go into one on a small spike thinking green light will be given by the end of the week 🤦‍♂️

It’s been to £9, over £3 since I’ve been here without approval. Even with dilution taken into account that £3 =£1. Not accounting for coal price rise & additional project involvement with solar park etc

Wouldn’t worry about averaging down with a 5p average. This will be triple figures on SoD approval.
