i have just emailed investor relations asking them to once again reiterate to the markets that stan has no european sovereign debt exposure! You would not think so judging by the performance in relation to its peers..no doubt it will be ignored

the point remains that chinas gdp is down because it has been largely manipulated to do so by the chinese government -Mr Tulloch fails to mention this, a 5 or 6% growth is probably what the chinese are aiming for - it is more stable for long term

yes its a traders market not an investors these days

if there is a global slowdown then chinas exports will suffer to, at that point they would drop their rates to stimulate their own economy - their yuan currency is also part of the problem as they wont devalue it i believe

its a balance for sure but they have ammunition to tackle the problem with money a plenty to do with whatever they deem fit - unlike the americans who cant get the republicans onboard and are reluctant to spend more

why couldn't they drop their rates?

i honestly feel that we should look at these events as an opportunity, not a disaster, the markets have been driven of late by sentiment and we can do nothing about that , but consider this, china has been raising interest rates a lot recently to cool growth and this has had the desired effect, they can and in due course will drop interest rates to boost their economy (something the UK and US cannot) at that point we should start to recover
