No doubt the market will settle down and the SP will rise again...That`s what shares do ..Especially this share. Patience usually provides a profit...in the end... opportunities at this level must come soon... Not forgetting the certainty is UNCERTAINTY....Lets see what tomorrow brings ... So blow the shares for today and I will watch England ..Win .. or if this is a really bad day......Get hammered..... Keep Smiling All....
Surely a better price than the past 2 years ... Your choice it will stabilise at one point .... How low do you wait before you make any move or not... You have to make that choice and gamble or stay in cash and save ...Unknown situation at the moment... Fortune they say favours the brave... Good luck whatever you do... we could up to 220p by the end of this week... ..who really knows.. it is all a gamble ... the markets are wild at the moment. ..we all know the uncertainty...
Current SP ..172p at 15.10pm
I think many would have gone more along with freedom of Jobs Movement .. rather than basic freedom of unregulated free for all movement of people principal . I have always said that there is a limit for everything, beyond that limit something or someone has to suffer the consequences . Therefore Freedom of movement must have limitations regarding and relating to the size the country or area. The EU seemed a good idea at the time and has helped trading for all countries. 30 years ago most came here and had a holiday and went back home as we did when we all did on holiday to Europe Cities and Beaches ..We where all mainly tourists. Now some Tourists are replaced by immigrants that have got out of control and do not go back home. Forget about those immigrants that have been needed, others on reflection have just created massive pressure on our basic services and housing infrastructure that were not at current levels 30 years ago. I moved out of London 40 years ago it was a growing frustration of getting to work and parking and parking in my local area and my own street. I had a holiday in Italy in Rimini and met a couple from Great Yarmouth and were invited to see them a month after coming home..we stayed for a long weekend and were shown the beaches and Norfolk Broads and found it was such a less stressful living location with 75% less traffic and so on... During the following year they moved to a new housing estate and again we visited them and liked the layout of the area and put a £100 deposit on £8K property and went home to think about it.. Regarding changing jobs and schooling and so on.. 6 months later we moved to Norfolk.. I travelled to and from Norfolk for 9 months retaining my London job in case we decided to move back.. But after 1 YEAR the house I had sold in London for 13K had increased to around 20K . So moving back was not an affordable option even after only a 3K increase on my Norfolk new house ..The rest is history and we have never regretted moving after 40 years.. and all our family and relatives moved out of London during the past 40 years ..some up near us... All this said the population where we live has now seen a steady increase the past 10 years and traffic not that stressful is also problematic at times, and like the rest of the country and big cities will grow worse... Finally the last time I drove back to my old house and area 5 years ago was a traffic nightmare and my old house is now valued at over 650K and hardly one car space to be seen in the road I once lived in Harringay North London and took me 25 minutes to do 4 miles at one point.... I feel sorry for the current population living in my old road but they probably do not know any better or the experiences that I have lived through and such a dense populated area now shocked my wife with a lot changed in 40 years... Just a little true story that many can relate to, and perhaps reflect of the current voting outcome .
Well I take it that now we have a nil chance of winning the Eurovision Song Contest again...
Strange how the Euroland Stock markets dropped more the FTSE market... which came back 50% by the end of Friday ..Does that tell us anything...
Dust is flying all around at the moment, now half the Labour shadow cabinet are reported to be resigning.... so many if`s and could`s and maybe`s at the moment..... Any quick major change will obviously have a shock response and in an unknown early situation ...It is amazing how the UK leave vote has spread like a big shockwave around the world... Just shows how the Establishment of the EU does not liked to be questioned ...Maybe in coming time skeletons will come out of the cupboard exposing the way things have been run in Brussels... Like UK MPs allowances exposure... It is obvious that people with mega money will make the bigger noise and many in the vote campaign now regret some of what they said and some are back tracking for damage limitation for their careers. No doubt things will calm down as reality kicks in ..... Has Osborne gone into hiding... We will have a raft of reports and talking everything to death ...then the new era will begin ..Over talking and Over reaction here and around the world has to stabilise ...People need to talk things out of their system And a new Con and Labour Leadership is now on the talking agenda ... Many other issues will logically come into the agenda...... Accusations will be flying around this week as will correcting statements and points of view from a positive future of change to those with doom and gloom as the future.... We have chosen to leave the EU club and without a membership ticket for the full benefits of the club ..The UK has just left the EU club and a restructure is now the forward process.....For the massive amount of trading that EU companies do with the UK and the UK with the EU. A very interesting and unknown coming week in prospect ... in life decisions are and have to be made everyday .. This not a disaster but a recalibration of the UK voting publics wishes ..Sometimes rocking the establishment can be a good thing for change that is what voting is all about. Some votes are much bigger than others with bigger concerns and implications involved ... Predictions will be flying around like bullets .. Life will go on... Meanwhile I like many will have to sit on the coach and enjoy the mystery tour and see where we end up.... It is not WW2 or anything like it.... Some of us remember life before we joined in 1973.... maybe a regret then to some to have joined.... you can never please all.. all the time... Just my view as always... So Keep Smiling ... At least we have Football and Wimbledon to keep our sanity from the media madness... ATB As the birds .. The 2 Vultures in the Disney film Dumbo said... WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO NOW FLAPS..
After Our entry into the EU back in 1973 like so many things that has changed so much From affordable housing to many then to unaffordable to many now ... I could go on ... The other big change is that in 1972 the teenagers were more governed by their parents attitudes, unlike today the teenagers want a bigger say in the world .. and as it seems many youngsters voted to remain and the over 45s were more voting Leave. As the older ones have lived through it all and many have had enough of unregulated immigration and other things, which the younger ones have not gone through and experienced. So we now have a divided age group agenda that voted. 40 years can and has changed so many things from Greece being allowed to go into debt above the.. I believe the agreed EU limit of 3% GDP Debt. And the possible Corruption with the massive amount of wasted money and cost involved with all the MEPs and their allowances... If a limit of population movement had been introduced that reflected in the size of each country... then 300.000 to 500.000 would never have been allowed into the UK in the last year and a probable REMAIN vote would have won. The Scots do not suffer the over crowding problem and so voted to remain If 5 million moved up to Scotland cities in the past 10 years their voting would probably be different. We in the UK now face changes and need to start producing more to export and stop the mass importing of things we can produce ourselves The folly of so much reliance of others now, compared to 1972 is crazy Immigration can still carryon into the UK but at a much reduced and selective way... 300.000 plus a year is just not sustainable.. Even 100,00 a year is pushing it while we have a housing shortage .. we now have a chance to recalibrate many things of major importance and services to make things better that are really needed for all... The massive growing UK wealth gap while so many are struggling, needs to be readdressed Greed is a destroyer of many things... We can Renegotiate with trading in the EU and now we have the open option of trading with the world. So things are full of opportunity and less restricted EU World trading ...Things should have moved on in 40 years and EU trading with a favourable system for all members is good, But there should be no restriction on trading with rest of the world at will for all members as well...... The world is now a global market ..Even my Neighbour buys boots from the USA online... Boris or Whoever needs to demand a better deal before the final Exit and Maybe A bit of flexibility maybe a final alternative offer from the EU if they really want us to stay. But further mass freedom of movement is not an expectable option year on year anymore. for our small island and services...If they just cannot except that, then this is WHY we are at now. Happiness in life is often being understanding and being Flexible The EU needs to adopt a bit of it... ATB
Quite so, and If you feel that your space is being violated it is human nature to resist at any given opportunity. So voting leave was probably the first opportunity to take........ As I said it seems logic that once a limit is exceeded then pressure builds up .... and sadly a few big limits have gone to the wire for many...at the present time. Take a Town and increase the population by 25% to 50% does not always go down well will locals and the local services and traffic system... Just creates frustration to the majority.....
What if the migration to the UK is stopped by the UK and the other EU countries are forced to pick up the tab.... that may well create future unrest in the EU in years to come .. Just a thought, and the lack of UK financial input money lost. ... It may also be a wake up call now for the EU MPs to rethink their general attitude regarding mass movement of people to a small UK Island compared to big countries like Spain, Italy and Germany ..If a limit was imposed to the size the country, then the Remain Vote may well have won....I think many seized this opportunity to fester their anger at so many things in the UK that are not regulated or fair ...More is only good when things are comfortable ..beyond that constant crowded cities and roads and transport create a nightmare ..a far cry from the relative comfort of 40 years ago compared to today ..when I just walked into a building society and got a mortgage on my own with a deposit while earning below the average wage.. at a fixed 25 year rate ... so boy has things changed dramatically over 40 years Today hopefully we will see a shake up on many things to come and Trade unions and the TUC must get themselves more involved with the government going forward., from here... You shut one door and another one opens.... A cleaner slate can be better.... No doubt reactions will emerge in coming weeks from the EU... A change is often needed and fresh approach. We now wait and see the reaction to the US stock market opening at 2.30pm UK time ... Was a good opportunity to get in this morning as big drop was well expected at the opening ... More than I expected at 65p down. The UK FTSE drop soon recovered nearly half of its loss in the first hour ... Even the bookies got it wrong this time .... Meanwhile after being up till 4am and setting the alarm for 7.45am just before the FTSE opening I have just had a couple of hours sleep to freshen up... ready for the US opening.. Oh the joys of share dealing ... Good Luck All...
On line share dealing the best way ..I use Barclays.. Type in a quote , then except or not ..simple As for selling price...hopefully 220p plus ... but will see how the markets settle down... these are unusual times.. combination of patience and uncertainty.... ..Billions must have been made overnight and this morning.. It could all be a major over reaction as most drops usually are ... was down 65 now down about 44. We all do our own thing... ATB
Taken the plunge ... Small punt at 188p
So the vote is LEAVE ...Get ready for a wild opening ... At 8am... Good luck .. ATB
Basic Logic where money is concerned manipulation is obvious ...it is just the wording that changes to explain or make excuses for hiding what you get up to... Legal jargon is out of my reach or interest at my age... and with access to so much knowledge and different systems of doing so many things at your computer finger tips ... it can be a mine field as to what new technology we have or is coming next .. Shares go up and they go down often with no logic reason... or if over sold/bought... Oil is up or down...Greece in trouble, the list of reasons is endless.... but that`s share dealing ..... ATB
The population increase will not stop whatever happens .. As for it continuing at 300.000 I certainly hope not.. But the point I was making remains ... Our travelling modes of transport are certainly getting more crowded and our roads usage is increasing every year, with more lorry goods transported use and delivery vans and parking will be a future problem in many areas.. .. Bookies bet a Remain vote .. If not ... it will be a VERY interesting Friday. ATB
As you say after the vote.. Time to recess the situation ... And wait for another drop ... Never regret getting back in when uncertainty in something like this vote... Worrying yourself into buying is foolish.. ..no doubt it may move higher with a remain vote , but profit taking will come and financials go will out of favor.. .or whatever ATB.
Regarding which way you vote ..or the pundits say. or the parties in or out tell us.... If the reported immigration continues at current rate of 300.000 per year, that will mean an extra 4 million increase...and will also mean up to 1 million more cars on our roads. Parking will be a growing yearly bigger nightmare and Trains and Buses also crowded far more .. How the stress of using the London Underground will be acceptable to the public if the population does increase by 4 million in 14 years or even half that remains more travelling frustration in many cities to come... .. So if immigration continues at 300.000 a year just expect to travel at a far slower speed and longer times to get anywhere.. Basic logic really...More people more travel problems of capacity unable to cope ..imagine 20.000 extra cars a day on the M25 and M1 ... going to London airports will be a traveling nightmare even worse if they build more runways.....parking outside your own house to many is a problem now... try the next street in 5 years time... You only have to think back 15 years ago and admit things were much easier to go anywhere and park when you got there , far different than today...so at current trends traveling by any means will be far worse in another 15 years.... Just my point of view.... happy days .. happy Voting... ATB Some if not most of this will probably happen in future years
Well posted caution and uncertainty is a bad cocktail mix in times like this week ... Patience is a healer and lessons can be learnt standing in the side lines... while the dust settles.... I will Just enjoy the experience that unfolds this week... as it is not a normal week... ... for me to invest.. ATB..
Good response to my post.... Wether voting in or out... The UK needs to use this this current time to reflect the new future of this country ... Like I said being self sufficient in producing all our Electrcity needs is PARAMOUNT as the future is even more Electricity reliant changing cash for tickets at railway stations to pay by phone is just one example of many introduced in the past 15 years .. Just I mange a power issue in Europe and the Electricity we buy and import from them STOPS .. The up to 25% loss of UK power needs bought could well cause issues of unkown quantity ... Relying on something for long periods of time is always a bad idea as cercustances can change beyond your control very quickly ... Make all our own and you solve the problem of reliance from others and we can then dictate and increase our own power needs at will. We should by now have the abilty to produce 25% more than we needs .. Just like most of us take extra batteries for our cameras and whatever on holiday as back up... Sadly UK future planning has not been achieved at an exceptable rate compared to several othe countries on certain things .. Our roads and Train and London Underground system clogged up to capacity at many times... My thoughts of the Paris recent flooding could well happen in years to come in London and if it entered the underground system and and overflows the sewerage system and underground phone systems London be hit in so many other ways for an unknown amount of time.. We had a sea surge in Great Yarmouth, in 2013 that saw the sea rise Nearly 10 feet .. It washed away homes in Caister 2 miles away and was the second sea surge in the past 10 years .. It was 6 inches away from flooding many homes on the east coast, which starts the Thames estuary .. With bigger a bigger surge the Thames Barrier just may not cope .. My thoughts are if it could happen then given time it probaly will in some format. Time changes everything as we all know and as the population increases the future to most of us is more frustration and agrovation with our systems under more stress... Of more demand .. As an elder couple said to me, we are finally getting Sky TV... Do we need a bigger TV for all the extra channels... What funny lot we are.. ATB
I think that over the past 25 years the NHS should have been and expected to be running like clockwork... with appointments and operations done in a respectable time frame.. Alas this has never materialised anywhere near that target... Being referred by your doctor because of a shoulder pain to see a consultant and have to wait 3 weeks to get an appointment date which is a further 2 weeks away.. Is one example that should not into days logic be happening... So why after the past 25 years is the NHS under so much stress. Well I take the view that it has not moved with the times and MPs telling us that people are living longer is part of the problem .. Sadly the real truth is that past future planning and upgrading the NHS has been at such a slow pace that problems are allowed to fester into bigger ones Why have more hospitals not been built over the past 25 years to cope with demand from UK patients and those from abroad let in to access free medical needs. The same applies to schools and Doctor and Dentist surgeries Countless more are needed around the UK today. All this going on while more and more are earning 200K or even millions a year . Now they want a high speed train to save 15 to 30 mins at a cost of 40 billion and constantly increasing. Heath care to me is more paramount to a quicker rain journey...Many would want quicker pain relief... As I said all these problems are based on bad future planning of dealing with UK our needs and infrastructure of roads and Train system and the major one Housing.. Our past 650 mps.. which ever way you look at it over the past 25 years have created most of the mentioned issues by their lack of achievement to meet demand .. Letting the population increase with so poor regulation is and has only fuelled a bigger demand on resources beyond the ability to cope with at a standard that reflects the wealth of the UK. I used to just walk into my Doctors in the 1960s in London a 9am or 5pm and sit down and wait to be seen.... No ringing up like now at 8.15 am to be told all appointments have gone today since 8 am ..ring again tomorrow.. We all know the score how much water can you get in to a bath in a top floor flat before it overflows and causes a bigger problem in the flats below ..as the population increases unchecked the future is obvious the issues we have and the overall situation will just get worse ..Since 1950 we still have not achieved the ability to even produce all our own electricity .. even knowing electricity use since computers, Phone charging, millions of batteries are charged every hour in the UK and Electric cars are coming and we still import power from abroad. Our MPs need to step up to the plate and start doing what they are elected to do ..Run the country for the benefit of the majority. The mere fact that things were less stressful 25 years ago, with current trends in another 25 years God knows. Rant over ..ATB
