Can anyone explain why, like today, the trading suddenly shifts suddenly from almost completely blue to almost completely red without a transition of mixed buying and selling. It's almost as though someone threw a switch.

YTSS, I have been in touch with the Chairman of the Favaersham Society and suggested he visit the Invinity Website where he will find a strong case against Lithium, made by Invinity of course, which will provide him with all the ammunition he requires in his efforts to win round two. The only expert he needs is the Invinity team.

Mart, I have been in contact with the Chairman of the Faversham Society who are opposing the project. The last I heard was that if the Secretary of State approves the proposal they will then concentrate on getting the Lithium batteries replaced with something less hazardous. I put him in touch with invinity, but time will tell.

I would also argue that there are environmental issues with this type of battery. The article said that the zinc was dissolved in potassium hydroxide. Calcium oxide is used in the manufacture of potassium hydroxide and this is made by heating limestone (calcium carbonate) to drive off carbon dioxide leaving calcium oxide. Ultimately every mole of potassium hydroxide releases a mole of CO2 into the atmosphere.

I have been in contact with the Chairman of the Faversham Society today. He tells me that if, in spite of the two local councils opposition to the scheme, the Secretary of State give the go ahead, they will turn their attention towards insisting that safer batteries are usd instead of Lithium Ion.
I suggested he look at RedT/Invinity as its website is full of reasons why LI is bad and VRFBs are good as a source of information for such a fall back position.

They really don't want the solar panels but if they must have them they really really don't want the Lithium batteries that's come with them.

Faramog, agree but it's nice to be reminded about all the advances in VRFB manufacture. Just heard that Rolls Royce are making 9000 people redundant in the expectation of the years needed to put the airline industry back if ever. Things like that plus the fact that all the companies taking advantage of the loans will not be allowed to pay dividends must mean that companies like Bushveld become a more attractive investment.

Siemens Gamesa put a VRFB on trial at its site in Spain in May 2018. Anyone know what the results were? It seems that they are not ignorant about the virtues of VRFBs but all three systems that they market through Fluent are Lithium Ion based, which is a huge shame Ian they are getting into action in India.
